To some signing services (not all)

You have no idea how often notaries go out of their way for you and you clients. I am talking about waiting for late borrowers, driving out of our way to find a later Fedex or UPS pick up location so the docs get out that night, waiting for docs and numerous other little things that we do-that you never hear about. I do this and I know that the notaries here do this too. So what is our reward for this consistent extra effort? Cheaper fees, waiting longer to be paid (or not getting paid at all), getting no loyalty from signing services or Title companies (you guys will often sell us out for $10.00 less on a fee) and this is after years of consistent and excellent service- to those companies I say-you are no good! And to the good ones that pay a fair fee and pay on time-I say you are appreciated more than ever! And you both know who you are!!

And don't forget waiting for documents that were "ready to go" but somehow just aren't sent to the NSA;

working out the printing problems of PDFs that were sent as an image instead of normal so that your printer crawls;

rushing back to the office to send out faxes then waiting for an approval call that never seems to arrive;

waiting for the FedEx account number that somehow didn't get into the work order and you have to call the SS and then wait for another email;

being told there would be two or three PDFs to discover that instead that there are many more files, with a mix of .DOC files as well as PDFs;

and lots more...

If you find a good SS, treat them like gold. They can make life relatively easy compared to the vast majority that don't really care about the NSA's problems.

I agree that if you find a good SS (or Title Company) treat them like gold! Remember many of the things listed that we as ‘Signing Agents’ have to cope with are no fault of and also suffered by the SS. Also remember that loyalty works both ways. If that after getting a decent amount of business, and decent fees from a particular SS, don’t go reducing your fees to their newbie lowball competition, just because business is slow.

The point is that this works both ways. A good NSA is worth their weight in gold, and I have some companies who realize that. I built my business based on reputation, and it paid off.
I don't get many calls from ss, and have become very choosy who I work with.
