Best Fit Notary
Pull up Harry's new graph under your name.
Then right near it...you'll find the word "Recommendation" and next to it a questin mark.
Click on the question mark.
Wording comes up to explain the graph...
The words...."best fit notary for your needs" is there.
Given that wording...despite what anybody says...that whole graph and its "goofy" formula
is a direct hit on a notary's ability...not on how well a notary supports NR.
If the hornets were mad before when their nest was hit...now they'll be INFURIATED.

Maybe I am confused but why is a Premier Listing member still on the premier list with a profile that has not been updated since mid 2005? This was not the first premier listing that was over a year old on the updates.

We might assume the person has paid the renewal fee, but not bothered to update the profile. Under the new points system, we might think that person will complain that they are paying for a membership, but penalized for not updating a profile. Others have had similar complaints.

The thread that began with 262027 is why NRCI was created, IMHO

Can we move on at some point?
I think those who don't like the rating or I.D. initiatives have sufficiently voiced their disapproval. At some point, if it hasn't already, this becomes no different than the signing services that keep shoving the same point down our throats over and over again. Some of you don't like it. We get it. Some of us do and see the value.

MichiganAl- easy for you to say- you have full bar status!!!
How about that for a "can we move on at some point?" Whatever- easy for you to say!!!! Of course that would be a person with full bars point of view. When you come back to planet earth and realize that there are MANY people affected by this....then please respond!!! But you REALLY have no reason to understand the frustration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: MichiganAl- easy for you to say- you have full bar status!!!
Cynthia, I'd guess if you didn't post anonymously you'd have a full bar too. Based on all the shenanigans that this board has seen from people who think they're anonymous, I can see why it would be a factor. I've looked at the listings in my area and to me it's been fairly obvious as to why one profile has a higher score than another. And I support the I.D. verification, which has nothing to do with how many bars I have. Anything that can be used to distinguish us from others is a positive.
Notary Rotary has always supported us. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to show my support and gratitude for them and I welcome any tool that shows my dedication to the industry and to Notary Rotary.

And by the way, if I didn't have a full bar
I think I'd focus my energy on figuring out what it would take to get a full bar instead of focusing it on criticizing the site that has contributed so much to my success. But that's just me.

Re: And by the way, if I didn't have a full bar
Amen, Al....I place a great deal of confidence in this board's referral system via "FIND A NOTARY"...I credit this and three other online sources with a majority of my success over the years. If it weren't for these resources, I would not have attained the level of business I've developed since becoming a member. Folks who have managed to successfully to get their bars maximized will do better than those who haven't figured it out yet.

Congrats, you now have a full set of bars.
Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about your teeth.

Which post from Harry explains you get more "points" if you link your profile? I can't find that statement. Thanks.

The bars look different this morning.
They are smaller and less defined by the notches...at least with my browser.

Which IMO makes a little harder to compare the lenght of the people above/below me. Still striving for that perfect score of 800 - even though I have (or had anywa) full bars.

Re: You are right- it is like a solid line today vs notches!!!
Yesterday, 2 premium members and 2 basic had full bars; today almost everyone, yet I see profiles not updated since Jan. and one liners in profiles getting full lines. There is no further distinction that I can see for those who post, and those who don't post. The whole thing is of no significance, or as Shakespeare said: Much Ado about Nothing.

Re: Can we move on at some point?
I'd be happy to move on, Al.
But, I don't think "at some point" has been reached.
Harry has been particularly quiet about concerns that have come up.
Perhaps that will change.

Re: NCLISA has already gotten burned on the Bestfit chart
While I sympathize with NCLisa, the chart is not to blame, IMHO. The bars are only a tool to indicate which profile to READ first, regardless of the "best fit" claim and regardless of the criteria to reach full bars. I would expect hiring entities to continue doing as they've always done - INTERVIEW the potential Notary. If the bar system didn't exist, a lousy Notary would still be....a lousy Notary. Who would you blame then?

The title of your post made me laugh, my first thought was it was a signing service called Best Fit Notary...and you were asking about them... doesn't it sound like one? I have to agree, this whole rating thing is a joke. It would be much better to have profile guidelines (like 456 has) that HAVE to be followed, everyone should have to update regularly whether they are a paid or free member. In spite of the fact that most paid members DO have current profiles; the inadequate profiles are seen, and give an overall impression that this site is not very current and could be a waste of time. At least that would be my impression, if I did a look-up and the first several names shown give no useful info about themselves. I would assume that they are either new, or no longer working as a mobile notary. It hurts the overall usefulness of the site when paying members are allowed to have stale profiles, just because they don't care enough to update or make a profile.

Harry changed the wording under the ? section next to
"recommendation". This seems to be more fitting for what I think he is trying to accomplish with this whole thing.
