I just took one with Infinite for tomorrow morning
Saw the negative feedback after the fact - when I called her about it she promised (in writing) to pay me in 30 days...hope I don't live to regret this...

Cancel it. They haven't been paying for a long time
from what I recall.

When I saw the negative feedback I called to do just that
we talked it over and I told her I'd give her a chance - I can't cancel now - I don't play that game.... I may be kicking myself later but for now I'm committed to the assignment (and yes, I know, SHOULD be committed) - we'll see ... I trusted her AND my instincts and I can only hope I don't get burned for it.

The honorable always seem to be suckers to the dishonorable.
Linda, why not avoid kicking yourself later and be more committed to the success of your business than worrying about offending the dishonorable?

"I can't cancel now - I don't play that game."
So you'd rather play the game where you chase down your money for months, and it ends costing you more in time than the amount you're actually receiving? Don't be a fool. It's not a game, it's called running your business effectively.

Re: I just took one with Infinite for tomorrow morning
I've worked with them in the past...will not work for them ever again. I did get paid, but after factoring all the bullshit and time I wasted trying to get the checks, I lost money. Proceed cautiously.
Since my dealings with Infinite Notaries and a few other nopay/slowpay services, I have implemented a new policy which seems to work to my benefit. If I accept a signing from a service which I have no history with, I do the research on them ASAP. If the feedback is negative or questionable, I call them back, explain my concern, and ask for advance payment of half the fee. If they refuse, I cancel the appointment and tell them to remove me from their list. I would rather not work than work for free...and the fact these deadbeats get away with screwing the notary out of their fee pisses me off more that the nonpayment issue.
In order for these distant business relationships to work, there has to be trust. IMO, if these signing services/title co's want to build these relationships, they should & would be willing to advance pay 1/2 the fee to establish good faith...if not, I don't want to work with them.
Good luck

Re: I just took one with Infinite for tomorrow morning
Exactly! We trust them to pay us, but they don't trust us for the signing - even with our YEARS of experience (&the fact that we could los our N. commissions)!!!
