Digital Camera

I am looking for a rechargeable digital camera that sells for less than $200....my dog chewed mine up last weekend! I did a search, but, didn't find anything and would appreciate suggestions.

I use a Nikon L-16 I got at Walmart for about 100 bucks. It has a Macro setting,
as well as a close-up setting. Works for me. Of course, I only use it if the BOs
forget or don't bother to get copies, and I really don't care how good the pic is.
That is something the LO SHOULD have told them, and if the pics are not very clear,
they can make a copy of the IDs and send it in later. That SHOULD not be my job,
pride in doing MY job not withstanding!

If you want a small one, easy put in your purse or a pocket, the Fujifilm Z5 is a good one. It has a macro and zoom setting and takes some very nice pictures too.

Dummy question. Whats a macro setting. I am still using my old one that requires a floppy disc because I can set it so the pictures can be reduced when taken for email or websites later. My computer that accepts floppy's is staring to complain about them so I will have to do something different soon.

Most modern digital cameras ...

... have a USB cable that enable them to upload the images directly to the PC.

A macro setting (or adaptor lens) enables very close-up photos, whether of flowers or of drivers' licenses.

If you also do inspections, you should make sure that your

camera is at least 6 megapixels. There are quite a few cheap, but good models out there. I had a Sony Cyber-Shot (which was great, but it was an older model and only had 3 megapixels) There is a newer one with 7 that is under $200. My newest camera is a Canon Power-shot, which I also like very much.

You can use the USB cables to download your pictures, but It is faster if you use an SD card.

It is all personal preference, IMHO.

Re: I have a sony cyber

shot that is small and takes good pictures that I can throw in my purse. My favorite digital camera is my new Kodak Easy Share Z812IS - but its bigger and cost about $250. Its all what you want to do with it-I take a LOT of pictures and I love to scrapbook and with the kodak, I can really zoom in.

I appreciate the recommendations...

...I bought a Canon PowerShot SD750 7.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom and a macro setting on Amazon.com for $169.
