It will COST YOU to work for ServiceLink

Not only are they only willing to pay $45 per closing (plus $20 for edocs), they are gaining a very poor reputation for payments. On top of that, they are now requiring a background check to be completed by Acxiom. The cost to the signing agent for the "basic ServiceLink" check is $54. Add to that, if a New York criminal background check is needed, an additional $52 fee will be tacked on. An additional $30 fee will be added if a Puerto Rico criminal check is needed. Having lived in all three places would mean a "basic" background check would cost $136. There would be no way a signing agent would ever recoup their expenses at these rates and fees. Just plain ludicrous.

Everyone who has had any recent dealings with ServiceLink, please go rate this company fairly. Their present rating of 3½ stars, imo, is at least 3 stars too many.

I have great experiences with Servicelink. I hate the fax backs, but they always meet my fee and I get regular business from them. They always pay me within a week of my invoice being received.
You have to have experience to work with them because they can have complicated packages.

I just need to make sure there is complete information out there. In my case, I haven't had any bad experiences from them and they pay me what I require.

I haven't heard anything about the background check stuff you wrote, but I have 2 background checks already, one with Notary Rotary and one with the NNA.

All of my experiences have been good and I have done many, many signings with them.

PAW has more experience than most people will ever hope to have in their lifetimes...

I hope they are paying you well.

They haven't offered me over $65 in 2 years, and I won't work for that. Their closings are always at least 50 miles round trip. I also don't appreciate the $25 to $42 they pay for a no sign. They used to pay me $125 no problem, but the more they demanded, the lower they paid.

I had the same experience as Lisa.

Re: I hope they are paying you well.

They pay me the same as I require from all of my companies.
It is probably because of the region I am in...I am the only person they work with here so I think that makes a difference. If you are in a region where there are a lot of notaries it makes a difference on payment since there is more competition.
I would not work for the prices you state either and I am sorry that they won't pay you more.
I spent 15 years as a loan processor and underwriter and have done tens of thousands of signings over the last 17 years and I would not work for the money you stated either.
I just want to make sure that others know that one person's experience can differ to another person's experience. They have also always paid me very quickly and I have done hundreds of signings for Servicelink. They actually send me more business than any other company I work with.
Thanks for the post.
