NREIS--finally had enough
I had worked with NREIS for a couple of years. They pay a lower fee, but when there was a lot of CW it was good for volume. Lately, the closings have been a real hassle--lots of rescheduling & other hassles. I finally had enough & asked them to remove my name from their vendor list. The market is having a major impact on getting loans closed, I realize, but enough is enough. For the money it wasn't worth all the extra time & hassle. There is so much "babysitting" going on-- extra instructions on business attire, faxbacks, etc. I don't know how they can afford to employ so many babysitters? They have a "3 strike" policy & I never provided them with anything but top quality service. They finally got my "3 strikes". Anyone else have any similar experience?

I had posted prior to this same problem. Not only the hassles but the scheduling me for a closing only to find out that it was going to be done over the internet and no notary involved. This came from the buyer and I couldn't contact NREIS and the next morning they called me to inform me that is was being done via internet. After having had the experience of no pay because the recission date was incorrect, I finally told them they weren't worth my time.

I struck them out years ago. They need to meet my policy.

Yes, NREIS & ServiceLink are a no-no for me. They will get what they pay for.

They have to pay their babysitters
That is why they cannot afford to pay the NSA an acceptable fee. It's a vicious cycle....either they pay the NSA a reasonable fee, and take their chances that he/she knows what to do, or low-pay everyone and have the in-house reps babysit the NSA.

For Servicelink, NREIS and a couple of others, I just charge them my regular fee, then tack on a fee for the extra hassles. About one time out of five they agree to it. Those times, of course, are always 11th-hour situations for them. On top of that, if there are faxbacks, I charge $1 a page for anything beyond two pages. It's astonishing how little they need the faxbacks when they're going to cost them money.
I guess there are some hassles that are so egregious that there is no adequate compensation, but I haven't found one to date.

I loved working for them last year, but now when they call, if I cannot meet the exact time, day and fee they go to the next notary on the list. In regard to appointment time, 99% of the time, the borrower is at least somewhat flexible with their time, but if I am not available at the exact time, that is it. Even as little as like 30 minutes different. They say their "boss" says they need to find the exact time and if they cannot find someone then they will come back to me. Of course, if you call every notary, someone will be able to do the exact time. It was very depressing because that is all they cared about. I have been doing this for 17 years and to have it come down to that, with all of the signings I have done for them over these years...well, it is hard.....and frustrating. The lack of loyalty is what is difficult for me now. They don't even let you check to see if the borrowers are flexible with the time. Anyway, that is my feelings....it is a difficult time right now that is for sure....=-(
