OT-Problem with HP LaserJet P2015 Printer..HELP!!!

I purchased this printer last year brand new at Staples after hearing good reviews about it. All of a sudden this printer is not consistantly printing. I has been getting a lot of failure to print errors and then I will clear the print queue and then shut down the printer, etc. I have even rebooted my computer to see if that would help and it hasn't. Sometimes when I turn the printer back on the paper jam light will light up even though there is no jam.

Fortunately I was able to get it back into the print mode to print a set of loan docs but I don't know when this printer is going to fail me again.

I am wondering if I already need a new printer which I am not prepared to buy. Any suggestions???

TIA

Take with the whole box of salt...

Don't have that printer nor know diddley about it, it's just that your problem sounds a lot like the problem I had with a HP1200... turned out the memory was pffffft. It would work; not work; work again...and, after a week of this nonsense it just sat there blinking at me. Toast.
Hope some one of NR's techie people can help you out.

First check to see if it's under warranty

I'm thinking it might well be a software problem... but if it's approaching a year I'd check that first. If it's just barely under warranty send it back.

Otherwise, uninstall and reinstall all the printer software and see if that helps.

Besides bad memory, intermittent problems can also be caused by a bad cable.

Re: First check to see if it's under warranty

After days of frustration and many times on hold with HP, I've been told that my HP laser 1320 and the new HP laser M2727nf will not work with Windows Vista operatiing system to produce both legal and letter size documents.. I'd read this form and spent a lot of time trying to format the HP1320 and sometimes it print both sizes but most often the yellow light would flash as some point. I would push the green button and continue or turn the machine off and on like many of you... HP informed me that you need the HP TOOL BOX in order to program the printer... But the Tool Box won't work with the Windows Vista Operation System. I asked, "How can you fix this problem?" and the answer was... YOU CAN"T.. In fact the HP Representative said he'd had this same problem and Vista won't run many of the game software either..
so what to do.... Add one of my old computers which has the Windows XP operating system...

I think it is definately a hardware problem because when I

turn the printer on/off to reset; an error light on the console lights up erroneously. Sometimes the paper jam lights up although there is no paper jam. Sometimes the "no paper" light is on indicatiing no paper when I have paper in it. To temporarily correct this I will either unplug or shut off the printer and keep my fingers crossed. Sometimes it will work; sometimes it will stay in the same mode.

I googled and did come across a thread on an HP business forum and one of the possibilities that was mentioned was a bad formatter. I am hoping this is a simple fix; my printer is just over a year old so it is out of warranty.

My HP LaserJet P2015 Printer..HELP!!!

I use the same printer and haven't run into this problem. However, I did need print support to get the darn thing printing right when I purchased it. Hang in there. I've been happy with the printer. Try technical support. Hopefully, they'll figure out the problem once an dfor all.
