To signing companies that like to pay late...

I hear these excuses...I was sick, the book keeper was on vacation, we are putting in a new (printer,system, etc.). What if I accepted an assignment and showed up a day late or not at all and gave you any of these excuses? Or what if I sat on docs an extra day and said I did not feel good? Or the car wouldn't start? A very high standard is expected of us notaries. And I take pride in producing error free work, being on time to my appointments and returning docs on time -even when I have to go out of my way to do so. We would all like the same high standards from you that you expect from us-it's only fair!

hear, hear I'm with you. I've got three deadbeats I'm having to beat on to get paid. The check is in the mail for the 3rd time. They have no problem threatening us if we screw up by reducing our fee.
It's only fair to charge them a late fee after 30 days.

I did a closing with a SS last year payment was way overdue. I ultimately was paid and never heard from them again..Until 2 weeks ago (I like to give people a chance) So I took the assignment and told them about my ties to this site and if I get stiffed you will not like it! Along with a note on my invoice about how hard we work and should not have to wait months to get paid etc.
Well I received my payment in full today! I have never had to do this before and not sure if I should have done that, but it worked!
