I have been called by, but never worked for 21st Century Legal Services, as I believe what they have asked me to do to be illegal in CO.
I’m wondering about just what kind of “Legal Services” this company offers? And if they have attorneys that have been admitted to the bar in the various States they are doing business in? One poster says charging for legal services is legal. Duh?
This company could very well be a legitimate company, doing good things, with the public’s interest at heart…I don’t know.
But I do have an opinion. Lets suppose……….
Scenario:
Your Chinchilla breeding business didn’t work…Your IRS scam didn’t work….The money/gold/diamonds in Nigeria scam didn’t work….your Help for Katrina victims scam didn’t work…your 900 number in the Cayman Islands scam didn’t work…Your phone sex isn’t doing very well….So what about all these people that are into houses that are upside down, or over their head, and being foreclosed on, and desperate?Hmmmmm?…. You are busy in the ‘boiler room’ soliciting business, and don’t have the time or the money to hire people. (sales reps…for the want of a better title) Where do you find several thousand people, nationwide, that you can hire (with no money in front) and get to go to people’s houses, and collect checks, and signed paperwork absolving you from any liability and send them to you? These people should have transportation, be somewhat presentable, have some experience with dealing with people, be a little gullible themselves, or ethically challenged, and will work cheap? MOBILE NOTARIES!!!!!! What a brainstorm!! Now we really don’t need “Notaries” but better that pizza delivery people, and we can tell them to tell the suckers…oops sorry!! “clients!” that they work for US!! As if we’re a real company with offices, and representatives nationwide, and have them get the paperwork signed, and collect the dough. We really need someone to be there ‘in person’ because these ‘clients’ are too stupid, or stressed (or to SMART) to actually send us the dough without a little prodding. Just like sending a check to the Nigerians for the shipping charges on the two tons of gold bullion that we have waiting for them. Now we won’t get all these people to work for us…many are actual professionals, and have a background in the legal, real estate, or the lending business. I’m not sure we want them….too many questions. But we will get some….. Maybe we should call ourselves something “Legal” or “Legal Service”…something….Maybe hire a Lawyer…Heck that should be easy just about all the ex-congressmen, representatives, politicians, lobbyists’…that are now in jail, are or were lawyers… Yeah, that should be easy. And if we want to go legit…we could actually send in some of these “applications” to the lenders and see if they will re-do the loans? Could be some real possibilities here?

My impression is at the least, someone didn't do their homework. But I am pretty sure its not that simple.

Re: 21st / Question?

Question: Would a legitimate company, acting in good faith, solicit someone, for compensation, to do something that is illegal, in the State where they (the jobber) do business, and to misrepresent themselves to the “customer” while doing it?

Re: 21st / Question?

Think you answered that already LOL. My advice to everyone is to contact your states Dept of Finance or Dept of Banking for clarification on whether what they are doing is legal in your state. Also refer to the notary handbook. The part about 3rd party neutrality. Even though you are not notarizing there, you are there because you are a notary and the homeowner has been told that as well as that you are their " representative". Deceitful from the get go.

Thanks to the kind of publicity and discussion on this site (and perhaps others?), I believe 21st Century is now having difficulty finding credible notaries to work for them. Keep up the good work!

They called me last week sorry cannot work for them again! The last time they called it seems like there was a party going on. Very hard to hear the scheduler. Totally unprofessional! Of course you do not get paid if the singer does not have checks. I did a few of these back in Dec and I received fast payment. I would not work with them again because I do not and will not tell people I am their customer service rep! I do not like the fact that their is no confirmation, no information on the bo, then docs show up and you cannot reach anyone on the phone!

This is a company that I would prefer not call me anymore, the hassle is not worth it!

I have received 5 assignments from these folks....ONLY 1 has completed....Last assignment was for Saturday. Confirmed with the signer on Thursday. Spoke to the LO on Friday. was on my way to the location when I got a call from the signer saying he'd had second thoughts and was postponing. While he did apologize, I know that he had done some further research on them. One thing was upsetting to me is that I work with my notary mentality on whether I am doing a notarization or not....privacy, no opinion. He told me that the prior appointment had been cancelled "by the notary because 21st century is a bogus company and is a total scam". He asked me my opinion I told him that the bogus company has paid me in the past so I had no negative comments to make about them...Secretely I sure do but I sure as hell was not about to tell him that. My philosphy is buyer beware and they should research as much as possible. I had printed the documents and was on the road so I will be billing them for this as I told them I would. We'll see if I get paid.

I have done over 10 signing for them and 2 canceled before I got to the home, and 1 canceled while I was at the home. The signing that I was in the home I got paid half of my fee which is really nice of them because I did not spend much time there and the company did not make any money off of that deal. Honestly, you can not blame the company that the client canceled. People change their minds a lot that is why 21st Century Legal Services ask us notary to make contact with the client before going out to their home. I made contact and the 2 that canceled on the phone told me then. The one that canceled while I was at their home when I made contact they said yes and then on the appointment date I went and they changed their mind, I do not feel that is the companies fault. I will surly be working for them.

I have done some signings for this company and so far every thing has been good, two clients did cancel on me but I think that that is not the company's fault. I think that the client has the right to change there minds, because only they know how their situation really is. so far I like working with the company and i will keep working with them. so good luck.

On my opinion 21st century legal services really helps people with problems making they're house payments. I been working with this company for about 6 months and I haven't had a problem.
