Closings per week.
Do you care to share how many closings a week you do now? What state you are in? And do you think business is picking up for you?

Friend in TN does 1-4 per day, his business is up. I do about the same in AL and also business up since Jan & Feb were down. Can never tell one day to the next. Only one today and it cancelled/re-scheduled to Monday but I was already booked and could not do it Monday.

You are lucky to get 1-4 per day in alabama. What part are you in? Last month was my best month ever with 16 signings.

5 to 7 a week since Jan. The title offices I do the majority of work for have told me they are see ing increases in the the pipeline. I still do work for SS as when they call but many won't meet my fees. I don't print docs(small packet?????) , drive 15 miles, signed, return, check my work and ship a packet for $30).

I'm in Louisiana and usually handle 4 - 5 per week. Used to do more; unfortuntely, most SS are trying to lower fees now, so I'm forced to refuse. I have noticed my call volume increase over the last few months, but most are skeptical and/or lowballers. The ones I do are usually for the same companies I've been working with for the last few years, so I try to accomodate all that I can for them and avoid all the problems other face with the bad seeds out there. Since the volume has decreased for me, I've focused more on the other aspects of my business to stay productive.

I had 4 all last month. I tend to look more at how many I turned down for fees/distance or those I lost .
My call volume hasn't been great either - nevermind that my cell was down for nearly three weeks in Feb.

if your cell number is your business line, how in the world can it be "down" for 3 weeks?

I push my land line. My cell phone is a backup.

I'm in CA and have been doing and average of 3-4 closings per week. Business is up for me this year due to the lower rates and I'd say I've done more closings in the first three months of this year than the past couple of years combined.

The "boom" is here now. I keep reading about "it's coming". It's been here since February. Naturally, you must live in an area where there are people, values are not completely upside down (and I'm guessing that's not as many places as the media would lead you to believe) and you must be ready and willing to work when the calls come ... something I see sorely lacking in so many posts ... doesn't matter the reason because the hiring party doesn't care what the reason is. They make a phone call and want to fill the order. If you make it too difficult or say no too often (again, the reason doesn't matter although on your end it might be a perfect reason) you will not be first call.
I remember last fall - when it was probably the worst time for everyone in our jobs - so many posting things like, at least my house is clean, etc. Many took other jobs (every Sunday I stared at the FE ad in the paper dreading that I may have to go throw packages in the mdidle of the night w/college kids). Some went back to school. Many others took the time to market like fools and take the type work they hadn't taken in years. Even though we weren't "working in the field" for 40 hours, if this was your job, everyone should have been still "working for 40 hours at this job. "Working" last fall would have paid off now that the "good" work is here again. The juggle between surviving the past year and now having work when the work is here is something that many couldn't or wouldn't do.
Number per week - 20+

forgot
So many part timers have dropped out that the companies now have the ability to call the fulltimers ... who they know are available to take the orders and who are able to answer their phones. If you don't answer, they move on ... more so than before it seems.
I also am travelling further than I have in years and also working later. I truly think I've come home between 10:00 and 11:30 p.m. more since January 1 than I have in the past decade. Saturday night appointments have happened at least 5 or 6 times so far this year.
I answered my phone yesterday at 4:30ish in the afternoon - at the Verizon store - thank goodness she didn't call 10 minutes later when the guy was switching the phones - and I took an order for Wednesday morning. If the girl had called 10 minutes later I would have missed the call and by the time he was finished whatever it is they do to get the new phone ready this company would have moved on and I'd have lost the order.

While I don't have Sue's volume, I agree that the boom is here now. I have had enough purchases in the last few months to rival my volume for purchases in the last 5 years. I have only seen a few refis since Feb, the rest have been purchases. The TC I have been working for expected the volume to be down after 4/1, but I got an email on Friday telling me to be prepared for April....it is NOT slowing down. And, like Sue, I am travelling farther, as she stated, many have gone back to work at the 9-5. Fortunately, I am not working as late. Most of my appointments are now during the day. I worked a few "gigs" to get me through the drought, and marketed my ass off. Now is the payback for all the companies I marketed to...they are calling, I am accepting or referring to network members.
