Fox Signing Service

Good Day to everyone,

I did a closing on July 29, 2008 for this company and as of yet have not received payment. I have made numerous phone call and sent emails with no response. I have spoke to the BBB today only to be told this is not something they can handle. I also spoke with the wage board of PA and was told to file a lawsuit. THis would be the only way to receive my payment. I am not sure about anyone else but I feel by the time I pay the $95.00 filing fee hotel bill and airfare to get there I am out money. I was told by the wage board to get together eveyone that has not been paid and file one big lawsuit. THis way there is only one filing fee and only one person would have to attend the hearing, hopefully someone in or near PA. Is there anyone out there that would like to be a art of the lawsuit? I can have my lawyer draw up all the paperwork. Please let me know as this company needs to be stopped if they are not going to pay there bills.

Hi Angela.

You're probably new to this site.

You're going to hear from a lot of people saying, "You should have done a search!" meaning that if you read this site, Fox is listed repeatedly as a sorry excuse for a contracting entity. They pay slow or not at all.

Do a little research on how to file a Texas small claims court lawsuit...that would be your best bet. It could be that since you performed the job in Texas you can sue in Texas.

Also, do a search on keywords here such as "deadbeat" and "collection letters" and you may get a little insight on how to collect from these types.

I've linked your post to "Fox" in Signing Central (at least I plan to when I finish my post). Good luck, and I'm sorry that happened.

Re: Hi Angela.

Their rating on signing central is three stars and if you just go by that and not look at the comments it might be a give them a try.
I do not see from what is shown now in the detailed comments how they got that rating.
Perhaps some of the earlier experiances (not shown) were better.

You might try calling the TC and tattling. Sometimes it works; sometimes not. At this point, whacha got lose?

I had the same happen to me with them. I finally sent a letter saying that I was filing legal action and they paid. NNA has form letters if you are a member.

Sometimes, all it takes is a sternly worded letter sent via certified mail that they have x number of days to pay up or you are going to file a claim for a judgment in court.

I don't see an agent for service of process, but Per the PA corporation record... I'd send your letter to:

RICHARD DOBROSIELSKI JR, PRESIDENT
FOX SIGNING SERVICE, INC.
1239 MERCHANT ST
AMBRIDGE, PA 15003

Of course, you should be able and willing to actually file the paperwork...otherwise they'll figure you're bluffing. If you have an attorney who is willing to write that letter for you, even better. Pay him a few bucks for his time to compose a letter on your behalf. It will probably get the job done and you can avoid court.

Some notaries have reported success when they complete the small claims paperwork and fax it to the signing service with an admonition that it will be filed on XX date if payment is not received by then. Others have gone the extra step and included the title company and lender or broker on the small claims paperwork, faxing a copy to them as well, and then they of course get on the phone to the signing service and hotly demand to know what is going on. Signing service then pays up due to extreme embarrassment in front of their clients.

Do a search for message 270894 on this site and read the entire thread - lots of good info there!

I was able to send some tough emails and that did it for me. My last invoice went out 111 days. I "swallowed" my tongue when I took the signing. It was literally around the corner.

They're on my "orange" going "red" list.

The last time a thread ran on them I put my 2 cents in. They have owed me for years. In fact one of the borrowers has since died and the other is a pastor. It was a long closing because the wife was legally blind and we took turns reading her the doc's.
Anyway I got an email from them asking what my beef was with them. So I emailed it all back to them...again. I got an email from Richard claiming I called the TC, which I probably did to confirm the closing and told them I was opening my own SS, which I was not. If anything I told them I was forming a network which is a whole different thing. So apparently that is why they are not paying me. I formed anetwork 6 months AFTER my payment was due from them.
So don't be surprized if you hear from them and they try to rattle your cage.

I only did one for them several years ago and I had to chase them for payment.

They paid me in the past (not always in a timely manner), but this last time (signing on 12/11/08) have totally ignored my phone calls, faxes and emails. I called the TC (Direct Settlement Services). They told me that they already paid Fox for my services, so will not pay me and that I need to go thru my own channels to collect from them. They (DSS) also stated that I'm the only one complaining to them of non-payment. I find that hard to believe.

I also filed a complaint with the Commonwealth of PA with a CC to Fox after no responses from Fox. Still no reply.

When they called last time, I mentioned their non-payment issues with others, but was told "have we never paid you in the past?". Thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt since what she said was true. So much for trust!

I SO MUCH cherish the good companies and notaries I work with now!!!
