Colfax CA was in my neck of the woods, but sorry Teddog, never worked for them, never heard of them. Wish I could be of more help.

Thanks for your responce and Happy Easter. I didn't take the job because it was one of those "last minute" things and she wouldn't meet my fee. Just got negative-vibs, you know that feeling I couldn't find anything out about them so I'm thinking I lucked-out. All the ear marks of a no-pay or "catch me if you can." lol
Happy and bless Easter to you and yours' Blueink.

Happy Easter Charles :)
Yup! Once a notary always a notary. For some reason it get's in your blood. I always loved the work and people. Still keeping the business (Day Job) also. As fast as this started it can end. JMO So if I have the time and they pay my fee, off I'll go.
Hope all is well with you and yours'. You're the greatest Charles
Which CA cow did you vote for??? I felt sorry for the poor English girl stuck in the cold fog. lol
Best regards my friend

I've completed one assignment thru Colfax Notary Service from Oakland, CA in February 2009. Communication not exactly desirable. The signing was a double, refinance of primary and second home. Problem was that Colfax didn't mention there would be a second. I found out after completing the first set with borrower. Called to get the info and went back out for a second trip later in the day, before receiving additional fee confirmation. We discussed full fee for second trip, was passed to another person and got worse from there. Hindsight has 20/20 vision, I should not have done the second without the confirmation. My gripe with Colfax Notary Service isn't that they're necessarily a bad company, however communication was poor. I would caution others (not just with this company) to ask questions regarding the assignment and get confirmation prior to leaving. If it's not what you understand the assignment to be, call and get those questions answered and a new confirmation. Payment was about 40 days.
