HP 2015 - Compatible Toner
Has anyone used the comatible toner cartridge available for most HPs? I have the 2015, and a compatible is almost half the price; however, not sure if you can refill this. ANy info would be appreciated.

Compatible toners are not the main issue in that most replacement toners are available for specific print cartridges. However, if you use off-brand cartridges as I do, I find that some of the replacement cartridges do not work very well when they are refilled. It may be because of a cheaper drum they use but many times when they are refilled theyeither work horribly with smears, etc. or must be discarded. I have heard that genuine HP cartridges can be refilled 3-4 times without a problem. I buy compatible cartridges (Q7553X) for the 2015 on e-bay as well as the replacement toner.

I have a HP 2015 and found a website that I use for the remanufactured high yield black laser toner-Q7553X. I buy 2 for $109.99 with free shipping - www.101inks.com. However, I did buy one from Ebay for $24.99 last week with free shipping. Just keep searching, good prices are out there.

The HP cartridges also contain the "drum", and I understand they should only be refilled a couple of times. I purchase compatible cartridges from LD Products/4 Inkets. I think they also sell toner for refilling. You might use the orange search button--this has been discussed several times before.
