You mean you were to pay for the return of the docs?
I've been doing signing for 10 yrs and have never paid to return the docs.

Your post is too vague if you left the documents with the borrower to return- I would say that you made a mistake, unless instructed to do so. If you are saying that this company wanted for you to pay to ship documents back- then they have made a mistake....cause that ain't the way it works!

When you say, "...responsible for the return of the documents," what exactly do you mean?

Do you mean that the signing company/TC expects you have pay to have them shipped?

Or do you mean they just expect you to package it up and drop it off at FedEx/UPS/Etc. for shipping using their account to charge?

It *IS* part of the job to package and return the docs after their signed. At least... 99% of the time, anyway. If the lender has shipped the docs directly to the borrower, then you're likely not responsible for them. However, if they sent the documents to you, either physically or you printed them... they you bet you're responsible for getting them beck where they belong. You usually do not have to pay for it, though. You are usually given an account number to list on the airbill that will be charged to the lender/TC/Signing Service. It's rare...though it can happen... that you are asked to pay for shipping the docs, but so long as you include it in your invoice, they will reimburse you for the cost of shipping and handling.

yes the company sent me the docs. and during the conversation there were no instructions to send them back. Then someone from the company contacted me and said that when dealing with their company there is a place on notary rotary where I can see their terms. I went to signing central. I looked there and there is a document icon. but hen I click on it it just gives me the option to sign, print or cancel.

I have paid shipping back.

I do applications (no notarizations) for a company that pays fairly well and requires the 30-40 pgs. of docs all be faxed back and then mailed afterwards. It only costs me two or three dollars and worth the $1XX.xx fee for a usually quick signing.

This makes no sense whatsoever. Why would they contact you and send you HERE to see their terms, rather than simply explain them to you in the course of that contact?

Anita....e-mail your hiring party....tell them to get you

shipping information or a shipping label or the package isn't going out....period...

It's not up to you to go searching or shipping information - that should be provided with no hassle to you...and personally, I've never seen one company post their shipping info in SC...

Good luck

Anita did the work for SoCal Signing Co. and they should

provide her with an account number or shipping label I would assume. I have never worked for them so I do not know how they operate. If someone who has could PM her the answer, she would probably appreciate it. Not sure why they would send her here, the comments for them lately are not so hot.
