Need Help! 1964 Dictaphone tape needs read.
I know this is not the place to put this, but needed it out there to find help.
Someone I know found a Dictaphone tape in their parent’s safety deposit box. It is dated 1964 and from their deceased dad. Does anyone know somewhere we can buy a Dictaphone machine (that can read this old tape) that is not expensive or know where we can have it read and transcribed?

Is it like a microcassette tape? Or something older than that? If it's a microcassette, I'll transcribe it for you. E-mail me - robert.koehler @ live.com

Tess, I used to own one at that time and the one I had had a
continuous band that was about 4 inches wide and slipped over a drive mechanism so that it was oval . If you are around a large city there may an older office supply place that could give you some sources. ot an office depot type place but someone who was around in the 60s.

Tess We had one. I emailed my brother to take a look in Dad's storage on the ranch. Not sure what kind of shape it would be in. Keep looking in the meantime.
