So the first one lists hours of 3:30 pm to 12:30 am. Are people really coming in to your office to sign docs?
Or are you expected to notarize docs without the person physically standing before you?
Hmmmmmmmmmm

It sounds like the first job is notarizing mortgage satisfaction/releases signed by a corporate officer or bank employee so you would not be dealing with the public.
Was it Citi or Chase? Anyway, they must be anticipating many refis if they need a second shift to get out the satisfactions.

Chase - mortgage releases
Becca, you are right. Monroe, LA is where Chase moved their Home Mortgage division from Tampa. They do a lot of processing there. With the refi and loan mods gearing up, Chase needs to gear up their staff. It will be "fast paced" if it was anything like it was during the refi boom a few years ago.
Note the announcement specifically states: "As a Notary you will be responsible for the ensuring that all Releases are signed, witnessed and notarized on a daily basis." They are not expecting the notary to witness borrowers signatures after the signing.

I cracked up when clicked the PA link - a "fulltime signing agent" for $1600 a month. To me, fulltime means 40 hours so that's works out to $10 an hour. Wonder if you travel to the signers via a company car and if you go to an office to print on someone else's equipment with their supplies? Perhaps. Then again, perhaps this hiring entity has a no stress, all docs lined up 48 hours ahead of time work ... if not and if it's the way most of us work ... no set schedule, no adhering to the 'set' schedule, last minute changes, etc., $10 an hour is totally laughable.

What a joke! We make decent money in this profession, and tend to forget that there are a lot of people who will jump at a job paying $10/hr these days.

...who will jump at a job paying $10/hr these days...
or less !!!! I just was looking at our local Craig's list and there is an ad for a notary at $8.00 an hour plus .35 a mile - reliable vehicle needed - so ... I am assuming (yes I know) that someone is looking for one of us !!!
Not sure what the IRS mileage rate is but last week on the Today Show they had "actual" mileage costs - mine was, I believe, 62.5 cents per mile.
