OT..Does anyone know anything about Skype-free video calls
My uncle emailed us to download it on our laptop so we can chat via webcam. The Skype website says there is now Spyware or Adware but I never heard of this website before. I sure it is OK if my Uncle has been using it but I am always so leery.
Any knowledge of this free software? TIA

I've heard of Skype, but have never used it. You could "google", and see what you come up with. good luck

I use skype it is fun and easy to use. I love the video calls, and yes its free.

Skype is great. My brother moved to China and I talk, with video, to him more now than when he lived in town. It is also great for seeing grand kids that live far away.

Skpe is very user friendly and easy to set up.
If you want to see how Skpe works check out Meredith, on Do You Want To Be A Millionaire. Contestants now have an option to consult with the smartest person in the world using SKPE. I purchased a video cam and headset at Wally World (Walmart grrr) for a reasonable price. The only thing I would do differently is get rid of headset and go with a free standing mic.

Hi, my wife told me to respond to this... Skype is great, I have been using it for years. The quality and program is the best of similar programs (and unlike AIM it does not want to take over your computer). I video chat with my sister in Britian and it is the standard for missionaries around the world. I just bought a Logitech webcam for my sister with video & audio, it works well. You can also buy different services like voicemail, a phone # etc. I work for a phone Co. but this program could almost put us out of bussness... try it you'll like it. M

Thank you everyone....I just installed it and can't wait to
talk to my Aunt & Uncle down in FL. I haven't seen them in years. Can't believe I didn't find out about this sooner. Now I have to get my whole family to try it out.
