Poor "tools"...

It was a server crash that made them spam. So...they just sent out another swarm of it to let people know that they accidentally spammed them. When you try to unsubscribe you get a page with this on it:

"On April 12th, 2009 between 9:00 am and 10:00 am, the xxxxx.xxx Email Server crashed and sent out a ton of emails to all of our members and a section of our potential client list........... "

How very tool-ish of them.

Re: Who are you 'talking' about?

She is emphasizing TOOLS in her post ... I'm guessing so that a NOTARY isn't passing out another site's info. I believe I've finally been removed from their annoying spam list.

Re: Who are you 'talking' about?

Apparently I too have been removed (via their unsub link). Had no problem 'unsubscribing' and haven't received any further spam since then.

I kind of gathered that, but I am on two other 'tools' mailing/distribution lists.

"We are Sorry for our Error.
On April 12th, 2009 between 9:00 am and 10:00 am, the NotaryTools.net Email Server crashed and sent out a ton of emails to all of our members and a section of our potential client list. NotaryTools.net is very sorry for every inconvenience our mistake has caused your business. We understand that we have violated a rule of internet communication and have corrected the problem, shut down the server and disabled the script.
We are not counter advertising. The blame is 100% ours, not our site hosts or any of our technical partners.
Again we at NotaryTools.net are very sorry for the terrible inconvenience we must have caused your business."

As an employee of NotaryTools.net we were shocked and embarrassed by our mistake and we not only issued an apology on our site we called each one of our members by phone and apologized again. We also replied the understandably angry emails we received immediately. We didn't send out another swarm of "spam".

We have a list of notaries public which was obtained the same way every other notary service provider obtains their list, we paid reputable firms for their services. We have one of the easiest and most respectful unsubscribe procedures on the net. No 5 step process on the site. And we try very hard to make sure you never get another item of correspondence from us.

We understand that the service we provide is new and different. We understand that what we need to operate at a high standard. We also understand that this market has been scarred by unsavory marketing and that trust is a big issue with notaries public.

We understand this because we are notaries. We are signing agents. We get late e-docs and deal with fast-hand loan rep. We live by our GPS errors, MapQuest mistakes & unpaid invoices.

We do not consider our fellow notaries or ourselves as any derogatory form of the word "tools".

All we can do is offer, in an honest and straightforward way, a service that is customized for the nuances of the notary business as we and our members know it.

Again, from NotaryTools.net, an apology for sending out over 50 emails to a portion of our potential client list.

You purchased our names from where? It would be good to know so that I never give that place another dime of my money.

An easy unsubscribed button comes with two clicks (1) Unsubscribe Link which takes you to a page where you can (2) Enter your email and hit the Unsubscribe button (or submit).

Add to that, Notary Tools....

19 unsolicted emails I sent to my spam box

Also add 11/24/08 to the list of dates (make it eight days) you spammed my box.

Your first few spams introducing your website did NOT include an unsubscribe link. I don't know about the rest...by that time I was so tired of your silliness I stopped looking at them.

Now you are repeatedly spamming this board....who is confused here? Me, or you?

Re: Add to that, Notary Tools....

I sincerely apologize for the experience of receiving are unsolicited emails. It was and still is not our intention to annoy to the point of anger.

You are right in our first couple of emails, sent out last year from November there were no unsubscribe links available. One of our early members pointed this out and we now follow the 4 guidelines for email solicitations set by the CAN-SPAM Act. Our unsubscribe link/pages do work. You click the link in the email, go to a page where we attempt to change your mind, and click to enter your email address. Granted going straight from the email to an unsubscribe page is more convenient but is not a smart business practice.

I can assure you that if you use the link you won't get another email from us, just as others have stated on this very site. Going by your words, I assume you haven't read any of our emails for a very long while so, if Notary Rotary's moderators will graciously allow it, here is the unsubscribe link: https://www.notarytools.net/unsubscribe.php

Also, we don't want it to seem as if we're "spamming this board". We ONLY respond to threads that mention something about NotaryTools.net. It's more of a simple public relations campaign so to speak. A way to get our views out there without rubbing the established pillars of the notary industry the wrong way, you know?

Re: Add to that, Notary Tools....

Thanks for setting the record straight on the unsubscribe link missing earlier on.

I have used your unsubscribe link a few days ago after receiving more emails from you. If it doesn't work, you know you'll be hearing from me. Smile
