Shout Out to Tony Negretes!

I wanted to give a big shout out to Tony Negrete and staff for the way he handles and assigns e-signs.
To date, I have done little more then a handful, no real issues. I waited, watched, observed and got opinions from my fellow notaries on the volume of e-signs they were doing. I debated within myself whether purchasing and signing a two year contract would be to my advantage for the number of e-sign requests I might or might not get . I opted to not purchase an air card and actually glad I didn't.
Tony assigns the e-sign, lets you know at the time if the client has good internet and computer access, Tony this made the assignment a pleasure.
Thank you Tony!

I had a call not long ago for an e-sign. I was not overly excited, this company has used me before for e-sign, all went well. But still the usual questions when accepting the assignment-do you have a laptop, do you have an air card? Now I had taken the training with this company already and would have assumed they charted who has what and does what in the notary file beside the other notary info.
If they read this, Tony has a good system, works very well, try it!

Yes but lately he has a scheduler from AZ I think, and by the time you want to answer and see if Tony can pay you a little extra for the extra driving time, she hangs up and move to the next notary on the list. I love when Tony or Lola calls me.

Re: Shout Out to Tony Negretes! Calnotary call Tony and

share that with him. I usually get my calls directly from Tony. However time is money and I know for me I always try to get my phone on the first or second ring. Also I have never had the need to ask Tony for an increase in a fee. I feel he pays fairly and HE ALWAYS PAYS, never an issue and I appreciate I do not have to invoice him AND his records are accurate. I have always find his office staff easy to deal with as well. Give me 10 Tony's to do business with, I'd be a happy camper.

One time he paid me twice for a signing and I returned the extra pay and they were so surprised, I won't keep anybody's elses money.

No surprise. I've done no esignings for him yet, but his operation is top-notch! Whenever I see his number on the caller ID, even if I am in the middle of something, I will pick it up.

I'm glad to hear that someone has a handle on e-signings for we notaries. It has not been my experience that it is worth the requirements of laptop & aircard for us. Even though I've never worked with them, I understand their operation is one of the best.

I would be happy to invest in an air card if the demand was there. I do of course have the laptop but I do appreciate Tony asking the client these questions in advance and the client has no surprises when I arrive, regarding e-sign, internet and using their computer.

The blatant a$$ kissing on this site is sickening! As soon as anyone actually gets paid by a signing company(surprise! surprise!) or are treated half way decent by one they are on here singing their praises. Then the usual suspects jump in on the act.

Re: Shout Out to Tony Negretes!Well, UKCowboy

I have been a member of this site for many years now, I seldom post anymore. I would normally agree with you on the amount of butt smoochin but the business has changed dramatically in the last 2 years and Negretes has been one that has stood the test of time when many other services have departed.

I'm sorry you are having a bad day. Cheer up.....things will improve!

NJ company not good for atta boys, but

other companies are good for atta boys. When one spoke good of the NJ company they were branded as a shill for their report and derided. Here we have the same sort of report and yet it seems that the Amen choir has deemed this report to be good and proper.

What a fickle crowd.

Re: NJ company not good for atta boys, but

I think there's a slight difference here....that NJ company you're talking about is instructing their notaries to come on here and post...

Now, based on my dealings with Tony I don't believe he's doing that...though I could be wrong....this thread started out as an attempt to praise him on his handling of e-signings - apparently he goes an extra step or two for his notaries who do e-signings for him and he's to be commended for that...that, I believe, was the intent of the thread.

I do agree with you though, Philip, about the goose and the gander comparisons..Smile

My .02

Slight difference as Tony has been around for about the 7 years I've been doing signings (maybe longer). He used to be in CA and about 3 - 4 years ago moved his operation back home to OH. In the 7 years I've worked for him, he's paid fairly and quickly (the two most important items in my book). In addition his whole staff is very pleasant. Tony started out in the trenches like the rest of us and knows what it's like out here. AND NO, he does NOT request his notaries to plug his business! Just last week I did my first e-sign and Tony and staff were there supporting me all along the way (seems that every time I do something new, if it can go wrong it will -- Murphy's law). Without their encouragement I probably would not ever tackle another one of the e-signs and might be missing out on another segment of my business. Thanks Tony and staff for all your help.

Philip
I believe the difference is that Susan was "giving a shout out" to Negretes regarding esigns. Susan rarely posts but has been a member for a long long time.
She wasn't coming on and saying "Hey, I got paid and they are a terrific company to deal with)

I think everyone got fed up with the other company having their notaries come on here (and quite a few of them became members just to post the "glowing report) and post day after day that "I got paid, and they are a good company". Got to the point I was considering asking my notaries come on and let everyone know I also pay my notaries, and thinking all companies that pay should do the same!

An occasional post recommending a company is OK, it is nice to know who these good companies are, but incessant posting on a company is overboard.

Re: OMG.....

I just finished reading each post AND this is the very reason I seldom post here or even bother to read the forum anymore. The negative chatter is unreal.
AND no Tony did not suggest I come on here and if this is going to do more harm to Tony and his business I will remove the post. There are a number of services I'm very happy with the way they do business but have never posted about them here, they know who they are because I make it crystal clear to them how much I apreciate them.

I only comment on this most recent dealing with Tony because when I got the other call from the other company for an e-sign. I know I sounded negative to the staff because quite frankly I'm not excited about e-sign but if everyone handles it the way Tony did or does I would be welcoming in my tone when they call. However at this point I'm not the slightest bit excited when someone mentions e-sign.

Let me further say I don't work for Tony all that much although I believe he calls me when he needs someone in my area of coverage. I think Tony's business like everyone else's has suffered with the current market.

Geesh step away from the computer and get a brighter outlook on life will ya!

E-Signings in California

Axelrod and Negrete must be the first to do e-signings in California. I was not even aware this had been approved yet. No wonder she's so happy.

UKCowboy

There is a big difference between e-signings and e-notarization, buddy.
I think you are referring to e-notarizations not being yet approved by the state of CA.
An e-signing is just basically an electronic closing with electronic docs, "signed" by a click of the mouse. Because CA is not offering e-notarizations, some docs must be wet signed, like the DOT or MTG, and the jurats.

Re: e-notarizations "in CA"

I don't claim to be expert in this and haven't taken time to research it, but I believe this approval may be more of a county decision than a state one. I was approached about three years ago by a major settlement company to participate in a trial for e-notarizations, as it had supposedly been approved by my county. It required a significant investment in hardware and I didn't feel good about the requirements vs. potential return, so I didn't participate. Good thing, too, because I never heard any more about it and they ended up dropping their fees, negating the "great money" we were supposed to have made.

Recently, however, I've been getting a number of calls from companies wanting to know if I do e-signs - for fees that are less than exciting.

"I hope you're getting paid."

Like clockwork. If you're not getting the results you want, I suggest you send an email with all the details. I can't imagine they would just ignore you. As I've often said about any of us, on any given day, any person can make a mistake -- including signing services. The critical thing is how you handle it when it happens. (And there are always two sides to every story...)
