So grateful for SC
I accepted a closing, met my fee's and looked on SC. GAHHHHH!!!!!! Another non payer. I just wonder do they thing we don't check them out as they check us out? I was just going to call her to decline when she called back and claimed it was a mistake and closing was a NJ closing and not FL. How the heck do you shoot that far off? She flat out found someone cheaper and good for them. This is 2 times this week now. Less work but at least I am getting paid from the signings I am getting. I can't say how glad I am for SC.

Glad you checked first. I know how they can be so far off on location. It has happened to me several times. Property in one state and borrowers in another. Not unusual, for me anyway.

Same thing happened to me this week
The signing service had two closings to schedule on different days. The woman sounded very professional. I told her I was grabbing my calendar to check my availability when in fact I was logging on to NotRot. When I saw all the negative comments I simply said, "I'm so sorry that I can't accept the assignment due to what appears to be payment issues experienced by other notaries". I think they had only one positive comment in 12 months. Couldn't do it.

I also took the time to go to SC on a recent assignment. When I told them the bad word on the "street" about the company, she wanted to know the website so that she could clear their name. (Seven recent complaints on non-pay) I told her she couldn't change history, but if she really wanted to clear her name, she had to start paying fair and timely immediately. She was not a happy camper which gave me a jolt of satisfaction for all the wasted time I have spent trying to collect.

Who was the company for you? Was Speedy Closings and Title Services. I am surprised they have 2 stars. I didn't have to cancel as she called when I was getting ready to call her back to decline.
