"Last minute callings"
I would like to know if anyone else get called the last minute to do a closing, or you get a call to do a closing at 10:00 am , the closing is at 6:00 pm, and you don't receive the e-docs until 5:00 or 5:30 that night. Is this only happening to me. Thanks. Last call in PA

Had one last night. Had about a 3 hour warning but it was one that was supposed to close almost 2 weeks ago, Flood plain issues. I was only 10 minutes late getting there. Scared the heck out of some deer getting there.

Do you ever get calls in advance.

Actually, lately I have had more of them that are a week out ahead of the closing. But the day before or day of is more the norm.

Nature of the beast
alot of last minute deals are a PITA. You would think after the EOM things would go better..ha ha. Last minute deals have picked up over the last couple of months, oh look the rate lock is about to expire get it signed.

Got a call last night at 7:15pm for an 8:00pm signing. I was already in my "bedtime" frame of mind.

How about calling 30min before closing time....
This happened last week. They called at 10:30am for an 11am closing & the closing was 25min from me. I was still in my pj's & had literally just promised to take the kids to the movies because it was school vacation week. Sorry, no can do. Good luck though! I'm assuming someone either dropped the ball or maybe the orignal closer cancelled last minute.

Re: 6:57 for 7:00 closing....
Got a call last night - voice mail (didn't hear phone over lawnmower noise)- at 6:57 asking if I could do a closing at 7:00 - e-docs. Either they forgot to schedule an SA or an SA cancelled.

8pm for 8pm... 1 1/2 hrs. away w/edocs
First call was a week in advance...'needed approval' on fee. A week later, call at 6:30 pm w/edocs that 'will be ready any minute' for same 1 1/2 hr. away. Tho' they will now meet my fee, I decline anyway (I know that 'almost ready' routine--and, ummmm... No thanks.) 8:05 pm same night--Call "Docs are ready now, can you still make it?" I was so flabbergasted, all I could get out was "No!"

I think this is a part of the business .... take it positively ..... they always meet your fees ... so its a good thing.
Once I got a call at 09:00 p.m. I was in my night clothes .... the rate was expiring .... told them make me an offer which I can not refuse ... and they did ... it was not far away ... about a mile and a half or may be 2 away.
Our attitude changes every thing.
Have a fun week.

It's like if you're driving through Death Valley and are running low on gas.
Guess what? There's only one gas station in Furnace Creek...

No, it is not just you as everyone has testified to here! It's more the standard operating procedure these days.

One of my classics, occured on March's last EOM date.
Was pulling into my driveway at about 10:15 PM after a whole bunch of signings. Was getting ready to walk into house for a visit with my favorite bird (Grey Goose). Night manager at on of my regular TC called me and said that he had an emergency. One signing fell through the cracks and they needed to get it done right away as bwr was leaving town early the next day. Offered me double my usual fee without me even asking. Postponed my bird visit until I finished work the next day. Printed dox, drove to bwr and finished at about 11:55 PM. They were very nice about it and thanked me profusely for accomodating them that late. Nite manager said that "I owe you big time" Sometimes I think that at EOM, the LOs suddenly rememer that April has only 30 days this year, where it usually has about 43 days. Just part of the game. May hay while the sun shines.

One Monday morning at 9:15 AM I was called to do a closing scheduled for 10 AM at a location at least 30 min. drive from me with edocs. I had just woken up and was not yet dressed. Was told by the title co. that they had a hard time finding a local notary.

As the Mamas and the Papas would say
"Monday, Monday, (da-da, da, da-da-da-da) Can't trust that day (da-da, da, da-da-da-da) Monday, Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way........"

The Norm............
It seems more the rule than the exception for the past couple of months. It seems I either get last minute calls..........or calls a week in advance, of which 1/2 of them fall through. It's no suprise, comes with the territory.

Last minute calls. I'll do some but it depends on if you have the time to print, travel and any other appointments you have. Most companies give you enough notice to be sure their BWR is taken care of. I try to stay away from those "last minute" jobs most tend to come from slow pay or no pay companies. JMO Also lots of errors on the docs.
