The Orange Search Button is your friend and lifeline...
This has been discussed ad nauseum throughout the years.

Fees for what? Notary Fees? Check your state laws - allowable notary fees are set by statute. As far as loan signings are concerned, MA is an attorney-only or attorney-restricted state - if you're not an attorney you may have wanted to check that out before you got into the business. And if you ARE an attorney, you have a pretty good idea what to charge.... MHO

no, i'm not an attorney; actual fees are like $1.25 but everyone charges for travel, etc. so I was just looking for what's typical

That's something else you need to check on - your state may regulate how much you can charge for travel and whether you can charge for your time, services, etc...

Your MA state notary handbook should be your best friend. Different states have different rules on whether a notary can charge for travel etc.
