21st Century...they don't even call now...
they just email you docs and set your fee for you. LOL
This morning a got a "confirmation" for one of these 21st Century deals 55 miles from here, name of the person & address, and their whole packet and instructions. There was no call in advance or anything...they just sent this stuff to me. I just wrote them back and told them thanks, but no thanks. I guess they're getting tired of people turning them down on the phone. LOL

I was called just yesterday. I turned it down immedately and asked them not to call again. But, I wish I would have accepted it and received the pkg, their instructions etc then give the job back to them. I wanted to have someting on paper to prove what they are asking us, borrowers to do and how wrong it is. I wanted to call the AG of IL and wanted to have proof in hand. Going to call anyway.

John, curious, what are they offering in the way of fees for you to drive 55 miles and do all their dirty work?

They advertise on late night television. Must be making a bundle to pay for those TV advertising spots. People in distress don't sleep. Found this on RIPOFF REPORT. Very telling....
I can't take it anymore! I've had it with David Hoffman at 21st Century Legal Services. This guy calls everyday. I've told him so many times to remove me from the call-in list and all he does is hangup on me. I've been nice and cordial but after 4 dozen or so phone calls, he finally gave me his name. But he gave me a bogus phone number of 1-800-242-3842 x 240. That's just a fast buzy. So, I looked up the company on the internet and came to this site. I called the 909-483-6766 number and Amanda said they purchase the phone numbers on a disk from the banks, credit card companies, etc. My number is non-published, so how that ever got out I don't know.
I pulled a www.ussearch.com on this guy, he is 45 and lives in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, San Bernardino County, and has a relative named Troy A Hoffman. David lives with a woman, Lori Cruz, in a single family residence in the Fontana District, Parcel # 1089641360000. They have been there since 01/23/2003. He may also have vacant land for a single family residence in the Needles District Parcel # 0648201100000. Both properites can be attached for further litigation.
The corporation is located at 9507 Business Center Dr, however; the Secr of State has the corp # C3135933 and has ONLY been in business since 12/05/2008 and listed at 9350 Baseline Rd Ste 105 with an Agent of Andrea Ramirez of the same address. Andrea by the way has 13 aliases! Aged 42 also living in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
I'm ready to litigate! Let's rally through the California States Attorney!

They called me for the first time yesterday. I barely got a chance to explain why I would be unable to do their closing before they hung up on me. (Not that I had any intention of working for them in the first place after reading all these horror stories about them here and other boards) Oh well, such is life. Obviously it's a good thing....;o)
Thanks my NR family. You are wonderful!

Off to work....21st Century Legal Services is listed on another industry board as a company that hires notaries. Gotta talk to JB about this one...can't be worth the subscription price 21st Century is paying to aide and abet a criminal company who is exploiting people across the country.

Not saying that I'd do this, but I have heard of some who take the assignment & call to warn the people. These companies amaze me. They continue to do business while under investigation & knowing it's illegal in a lot of states. I'm guessing it's run by some lawyers who continue to run with it because they haven't been convicted of anything.

I got a call from a Florida notary about this company - she'd been contacted to do one..got the paperwork and then read the forums about them....long story short she called the FL AG about it and was advised that she should speak with the homeowners and warn them...they could not take a complaint from her, the notary, but the complaint had to come from the homeowners.
Guess forwarned is not always forearmed. An ounce of prevention and all that rot.

Send the Doc's to you Dept of finance. Through their complaint dept. Also Dept of consumer affairs. Since it was unsolisited and questionable as to what they are asking you do do, talk to your DA.

This is a 21st Century doc...
Ya know...I don't see anything in here about post-dated checks...hmmmmm It's on 21st Century letterhead. The bolds and underlines don't copy, but you get the drift.
JJ

I would like to know how they are getting potential
clients for loan mods? Seems like they get lots and lots of biz! Too bad they are so damn unethical!

Re: I would like to know how they are getting potential
People do silly things when they're desperate. They're afraid to talk to their lender reps because they're already behind on their payments and the collection calls are coming in. They want somebody to work a deal out for them that they don't think they can work out themselves, and that makes them easy prey for unethical companies that promote themselves well. They are about to lose their house. They contact these folks and are told DO NOT TALK TO YOUR LENDER OR OUR CONTRACT IS VOIDED! They then don't even have the chance to try to work it out with the lender because once they have signed up with one of these companies they're gonna lose whatever that first check payment was, and then they're scared into thinking that they're going to be criminally charged for stopping payment on the post-dated checks they give.
I can't say that with first hand knowledge, but the above is what I suspect to be true. It's a sad deal, and I don't plan to aid and abet them to do it.

Re: This is a 21st Century doc...
Again, I have never accepted a signing from 21st Century, have not written agreement with them in ANY way, and did not accept this signing where they just sent me the edocs. I have not disclosed the name of the borrower(s), and won't.
I did go through the docs they sent me and I do note that they do not have that one of the forms of relief is a Deed In Lieu Of Foreclosure, which another company stated that as one form of relief throughout their docs. As I posted before, there is at least one company that has worse terms than 21st Century, no matter how bad 21st may turn out to be in the end. I'm not taking up for 21st Century in any way. In my lay opinion, most of the loan mod companies are probably rip-offs.
