Yes, there's that whole can of worms about companies who will only accept a BGC from the NNA.
You can use the orange search button--there's been lots of discussion on BGC's.

What could be better than a bgc from your local police dept.? Isn't their search thorough enough?

Depends. Local police bg checks may only check local (county and state) records. Many states have a 'department of licensing' which regulates industries such as banking and insurance. Typically, those agencies will not only do a local law enforcement background check, but also a national database and FBI check. You may want to check with your state authorities in those areas to determine if they would do a full background check.
