Bank failsures last week

One of these, Affinity, is in my home county, Ventura, CA. They had 9 branches and were very successful once.

failures/closures, you get the idea....hot here, more than 100 degrees, unseasonable for the Central Coast, which is fueling the LA area fires. Dreadful!

Yes, let's all send a good thought for those in fire areas!
I haven't heard, but did they get the one near you under control? Hope so! The biggest problem area now seems to be in the San Gabriel Valley (Glendale, Pasadena, La Crescenta, La Canada / Flintridge, etc.) I heard earlier that this one is moving in all directions. If winds pick up, it could be another disaster. I'm a good 60 or so miles to the south and couldn't miss the plume of smoke! The air quality in a good part of the downtown LA basin apparently is now considered hazardous and thousands are being evacuated. I'm sure all prayers would be welcomed.

Finally, last week, the second outbreak of the La Brea fire was brought under control. There is still a CDF outpost at the Rodeo Stadium in Santa Maria and attendant plains, choppers and crews standing by.
Nothing like LA though, 12,000 homes under mandatory evacuation. I always wondered what would happen to me if there were a fire in my community (www.sueycreek.org). I know I'd be on the phone to the CDF to pick Henri and the cats up at a helipad below my parcel and lift us out of here....we wouldn't have a prayer of leaving in my vehicle.
Yes, indeed, prayers for all Angeleans who are camping out in school cafeterias and auditoriums tonight!

Some photos of the fires - some remind me of
Mt. St. Helens eruption - the effects are much the same too

Those fires are devastating. We'll keep everyone in thought & prayer. We're having rain & I wish I could sent it your way.

I checked out Suey Creek Road, Cheryl, and read the story about the bear & your chicken coop. I can see why it's an area you wouldn't want to be in during a fire threat. Let's pray it doesn't come to that.
