Computer Virus - BEWARE
I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus! I checked Snopes, and it is for real. Get this E-mail message sent around to all your contacts ASAP.& nbsp;
You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,'regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C drive of your computer.
This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address on his/her contact list. If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even if it is sent to you by a friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately. This is the worst virus announced by CNN.
It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.

As I said, the hoax is from years ago. Not this year.
Which is exactly what snopes says...and if I were going to compair McAfee vs. Snopes...I'm going with McAfee.
It's an email hoax.

Don't do anything harsh
I had to educate my sister to do her investigation before replication.

Re: Don't do anything harsh
My sister works for the State and it was an email she received from a superior. I was passing it on belieiving it was legitimate, as was she. I guess she's safe from my wrath for now.

The easiest way to handle this is to stop forwarding emails. It's an annoying habit, and pretty much anything that asks you to forward it to everybody you know is going to be a hoax.

Wow... I wasn't trying to be annoying
I was just thinking it could help since all of us are on the computer. Is it really necessary to demean good intentions? BTW I don't forward emails, never really have. Just thinking this was legitimate and thinking I was doing a favor.

I wasn't demeaning your good intentions, I said that forwarding that kind of stuff (which would include reposting it in other places) is an annoying habit. Maybe not to everybody, but certainly to a lot of people.
There are thousands of viruses out there, by now people should be well aware of how to deal with them without being given a heads up. All it takes is a decent virus protection program and a little common sense.

I also get this email hoax from time to time. Problem is that so many believe it. I send e-cards to people & then they don't open them. Since it says "Hallmark" specifically, I think someone started it to harm their business. I hate all the fear & panic stuff that gets passed around via internet.
