Good price on Multi-function machine

Someone was looking for a good fax & multi-function machine lately. Quill has the HP Mono LaserJet M1315f on sale @ $199.88 ($100 off) plus fee shipping (good through 8/28).

You sure of the model number?

HP 1315 is a PSC inkjet printer. I just looked at the Quill site and don't see any multi-function printers on sale for that price.

Caution: Does not support PCL

According to the HP specifications, the printer language is "host based drivers" which does not support PCL.

You're the expert, Paul. I was told by HP to always use PostScript drivers w/the text files.
I've seen you post many times that PCL is the way to go.

PCL is **required** with some print utilities. And, in my opinion, works better (e.g. faster) with HP and Brother printers than does the PostScript drivers. However, with "host based" printers, they use GDI to print. GDI is the Windows Graphics Device Interface. Basically, if you can view the contents of a file on your monitor, it will print to the printer since the same "engine" is used to present the data to the device, whether it is a monitor screen or printer.
