NC Signing & Abstracting Agency-Location: Whitsett, NC
Be aware of this company - they do not pay. I did two signings for them in May. Made several calls to James, as well as faxed invoices and statements. James promised payment. I still have not been paid. I sent demand letter certified mail, return receipt requested and gave them until August 7th before I took action and I have not heard anything from this company. I have filed complaint with the NC Dept. of Justice. BBB did not accept my complaint. ". . .The case has been reviewed by one of our Complaint Specialists and was found to contain issues that are out of the BBB's purview." I cannot file complaint with the NC Dept of Secretary of State, Notary division, as this is a company and not an individual. Any suggestions what else I might be able to do?

Try small claims court
You'll yield better results than with the BBB.

I am having the same problem. I did 3 jobs in June. I have called James and e-mailed him on several occassions to no avail. I won't give up though. I did speak to Jamar Worthingto, but he just claimed to be another employee, but I left a message with him to give to James White.

You should at the very least contact the title/broker/lender who hires them to let them know the caliper of the company they have hired to represent them. I would not request payment from them but simply make them aware. I've seen many complaints about this individual.

How strong are TOS laws in NC?
NJ does not play when it comes to TOS a warrant for arrest is issued. If you follow this course you can not go after the money one or the other. 99% of the time once that letter goes out BOOM payment. That is NJ, you would need to check NC laws.

once again, a no brainer ... you're in NC, they're in NC ... how about a civil suit to get the ball rolling?

I have not been paid for 3 signings...I called the title company and they said they had sent payment to NC Signing and there was nothing they could do...They do not send them anymore business because of the number of complaints they have received from notaries.
I received an email from NC Signing saying they were going out of business....
