Printer
What is a good printer? I have two but neither seem to be efficient. They jam and heat up with 100+ copies.

My choice has always been the HP printers. Dual tray printers will pay for themselves over time in that you will be buying far less legal size paper. The HP 2015, 2035 and 2055 all come with dual tray availability. HP tech support also has worked well for me whenever I had a problem.

HP and Brother are the two most commonly used by most here. Depends on what you want to spend, whether refills are within your budget guidelines. I have 2 Brothers, love them and find the toner costs acceptable to me. I've had good luck with them - am on my second set of printers in 7+ years.

I recently purchased a brother 5370 DWT ...
I recently purchased a brother 5370 DWT after much research. So far so good. It's a dual tray that prints both 8 1/2 x 11 and 8 1/2 x 14 simultaneously. It sorts by paper size, which is what I really needed. I only paid $249 at Staples online and you can purchase an 8000 page yield cartridge for about $85, which is very cost effective for this type of work. It is a bit noisy, but so far that's the only drawback. It prints about 32 pages a minute. Good luck!

Re: I recently purchased a brother 5370 DWT ...
Look around in your area for a place that refurbishes printers. I got such a deal on 2 HP 4100's. I paid $45 each for them and they both are dual trays. The 1st one I had lasted for almost 4 years with not one problem. They are awesome printers and a workhorses. No drums to replace like the Brother printers. The drum is built in the cartridge, so everytime you put a new toner cartridge in, it is basically a new printer. Ebay has quite a few of them very reasonable.

I think I looked into the HP 4100's refurbished but they didn't support Vista OS. Good deals though.

I have a HP 4050 TN dual tray laser printer. It's old, by industry standards, but it works great. It has two trays, so I can keep letter and legal paper loaded at the same time. It will select from whatever tray, according to the size of paper needed. I'm not sure if this printer is still sold, but anything with this model number or higher, with dual trays, should be good. Be sure you get a dual tray printer. It will save you in the long run.

Re: Printer- HP Toner?
I have used a Brother 8460N for about 4 years without any problems. 7,000 yield cartridge is approx $70 I have been refilling my own with very good results. In the 4 years I have only changed the drum once, even though I got the end of drum message and kept printing with good quality for almost a year after. I have been thinking of buying a new printer and never considered an HP can someone comment on cost of toner changes and is anyone refilling their own? TIA
