What cheap labor will get you
I've mentioned I am allowed in a few TCs systems, while away on vacation they used Mortgage Docs and Nations Direct for signings in my area.
Well 3 closings had issues and one needed 30 pages re-done.. YIKES... Great for me keep up the good work cheap local help.

I just did a signing this weekend that was a resign. The first one was a POA signing and the notary did something to screw it up where they couldn't use the docs. The rate lock was about to expire so they extended it at a cost of $1337. And who was it charged to on the settlement statement? The signing service. They're not even a cheap one, they just used the wrong person and it bit them in the butt big time.

This is unfortunate & it is also the reason that the rest of us who do know what we're doing have to put up with tc & ss that send instructions that would indicate we're idiots & morons. I actually saw an instruction this week that included a picture of a Fedex Express Envelope. Apparently, the written instructions are not enough for some people--unbelievable!!!!

Sad truth is the inexperienced and unprofessionial can pay the same $$$ and be listed right along side of all of us and ask for the same fees. And many times can get them!!

Re: What is the protocal for the TC?
Do they call the 'cheap labor' back and try to get them to fix the problem? I'm just wondering because I had a signing where the gent worked for a TC (may have been the mail clerk for what I know). But he insisted that everypage was to be inititaled, so except for slapping the pen out of his hand; what to do? But I sent it in and didn't give it an awful lot of thought, the SS had me go out and do it over.
Then I had a non-borrowing spouse sign a form that was not listed as one she should. This one I thought about all night sure that it was wrong...never heard another word from the TC. Would they have called me first? Or did they maybe just send out another notary?
Just curious.
