Bonding Issues in Maryland

Are there any notaries out there in Maryland that would be willing to share the clientelle I have built up? I received some bad information from the Insurance Commission and from my Insurance Agent which caused me to turn in my Title Producing License because my Insurer dropped me when I attempted to increase my bond that was not due to expire until September 2010. Therefore, I am effectively out of business. I am constantly receiving calls to do work, but am unable to do so. I need a sponsor for the bond. I can pay for the insurance costs on my own. I have an excellent record with all of the companies I have worked for and even have a few letters of recommendation. We can discuss details based upon what you are able to provide in the way of assistance. Thanks for your time.

Unfortunately Charles you can't work under anyone's bond unless you are employed by a title company. So sorry your in this bind.

Wait a minute. Why would you wanted to increase your bond? Is this the only reason? It you wouldn't ask for increase, do you think they would let you to keep your TLP until it's expiration? Please explain more.

Ilene,
Thank you for the information. I was aware of not being able to work under someone else's personal bond. However, the way I structured my company was to have both myself and my company listed as Title Producers but pay only for the sole employee, me. So what I was asking really is anyone else set up as an LLC or similar firm, other than a sole proprietorship, that could take on employees under their firm's bonding. What are your thoughts on that? Thank you,

Charles T. Pratt
