FL notaries - opinions
I have been slowly working on a reference website for Florida notaries, which is currently located at http://education.notaryweddings.com/. I'd appreciate some opinions from other Fla. notaries on the website if possible.

One comment that I have is that all your references to the Florida Statutes is to another website, specifically: http://deadendinternet.com/notary/laws.html#xxxxxxxxxxx. If you truly desire to be a reference center, then I suggest you should reference and link the actual statute as maintained by the Florida legislature and not a relatives website.

PAW, just curious, a relative of who? Or do you mean relative as in related to the content?

The registrants of both websites share the same last name. It may be a coincidence, but honestly I don't put too much faith in coincidences. It may be that a family member registered the site and Robert is 'maintaining' it and creating his own web presence. Only conjecture on my part.

I suggest you check out PAW's website. He's known for being a great resource & provides a lot of info to notaries--free of charge! Thanks, Paul.

Where did you get your responses to the questions
in FAQ's - some of it flies in the face of the governor's manual, especially about wills.
I agree with the others....you should reference the state website and no other - and the statutes - not YOUR interpretation of the laws.

You might want to be careful about representing yourself as a reference website. Unless you are an attorney, it could be considered UPL if you are giving your interpretation of the law.

While I have a thread for FL notaries...
Have any of you ever notarized the "Application to Marry" portion of the marriage license for applications by mail or for other circumstances? The reason I ask is, the jurat is not FL compliant (no venue, no place to indicate name of signer or type of ID, no space to print name under signature, etc.). I was curious how others are handling this, because I am expecting to be notarizing one in the near future.
