Fax machine question
Hi all,
I just bought a new fax machine. I use my digital phone connection to try to send faxback but,it won't go through. Are there companies that aren't able to receive faxes that come from a digital phone service like Comcast? My old fax machine works fine.

I am having a problem faxing that I did not experience until I installed MagicJack. I hardly ever use it and have never tried to fax with it, but am having a problem faxing with the message poor line condition. I have tried unplugging the MagicJack and still am having problems. I know this has been discussed here before so you may want to do a search for digital fax or MagicJack

Yes - fax tone on digital makes sending faxes to fax servers almost impossible. IT is the down-side of digital phone service.

That's one reason I keep a land line - but they're pretty inexpensive here, compared to other states (contrary to nearly everything else here... ).

I had a horrible time with Vonage and Magicjack . So, went back to Comcast. But, bought a new fax machine which had trouble faxing through Comcast. Had to bring out my old fax machine.

I have comcast in my office and home-office works fine
with faxes. What kind of fax machine do you have?
I also have a 'myfax' number, where I can send docs to my fax number, it converts to a pdf, and I can then send the files as an email to my clients...sometimes this is more convenient for cllients who do not have a ready fax machine.

I had one of those 4 in 1. I tried to install on pc but, my pc didn't have enough memory so hp installed it remotely. Some functions on it didn't work though. I was able to print but, faxing was hard and scanning to fax later didn't work . So, maybe that was the problem. I returned the machine and, am working on new pc. Hopefully that will work. My present fax machine is over ten years old. I need something faster for all these faxbacks that we are being asked to do more and more.

yeah and you'll need a 'laser fax/printer' as well....
A new pc wouldn't help...HP PC's I dunno...don't like. I use and like Dell very much...no problems...
