Hazards of the profession...

I've been an regular follower of the forum this year and read about a lot of problems. The thought occurred to me "has there been any Notaries out there who hasn't had a problem this year?" Will you PLEASE STEP UP. We probably all could learn from you.

It's all in the perspective =)

I bear this in mind - sometimes it's just nice to talk shop with people who know what the heck you're talking about, and maybe many times that's the real incentive behind posting situations or voicing frustrations - just something to talk about. Like walking into a bar and needing an interesting opener! Certainly for every issue posted, there's lots of readers who never post that might have more and might have less 'issues' - but just like reading the newspapers, what hits print can make you FEEL like the sun never shines in our land!

Since it's not a perfect world and since this job has some inherent snags, there's not anyone who could possibly not have had some frustrations, some adversity, some situation from Bizzaro Land - but it gives us all stuff to talk about and think about - and learn from.

I agree..I always tell the BO before we get started that I do NOT want my face to show up in a nightmare about their loan docs. Smile I add, I will do everything in my power to assure they are satisfied when the signing is completed. But then, that just takes care of the BO.

Re: No problems

I love this profession. At times things can get hairy and frustrating..But I do not ever think these as problems..Just minor irritations! There are so many things always going on.. late docs, no docs, no passwords for the newest on line system, no one in office to answer bo questions..No show bos..I think you get the picture. I usually do not post such minor things..This is my chosen profession and I love what I do. It sure beats working for peanuts 9-5! Keeps me on my toes..

Re: No problems

Agreed. I love meeting the people. I did a signing for a person in the cookware industry (my 28 year old daughter said, " Dad, she's about four levels above Martha Ste...."!), but besides the amount, she was as regular as you can get.
Opera and Symphony personal, actors, musicians, people I would not normal meet. Yes it is a fulfilling profession.

I have been very lucky. I have had only one problem with Fox Signing payment in April of 2009, but everyone else I have done work for, were great to work for. No problems here.
