I got a call about commercial inspections...??
It was explained to be that I would have to go to the company and basically verify that they are in fact a company. The designanted person would have to fill out a form and I would have to take approx. 5 digital photos. I then would have to upload pics and fill out my own questionnaire and submit all online. Also, the companies would be within a 25 mile radious.
I was very interested until she told me that they would pay $30 per inspection. I then told her that I would not be able to do it for that fee but was willing to negotiate a fee. I never heard back.
Does anyone have any experience with this? It is something that I would love but with a larger fee.
Thanks!

Don't know which company called you, but I was offered $30 also. I declined and was called back and they offered me $50. I accepted that. I had right at an hour into the entire process and it was an easy job.

Heather, another NotRot member posted a similar
question last week. I'm not trying to be "smarty pants", but if you do a search under "inspections" you'll find a lot of helpful information, including names of companies who offer this type of work. There are some who pay more than others. Hope that helps a little.

For two months straight last summer I was getting calls like this about once a week. They tried to sell me on how my skills fit and so on. I've done this kind of work before and it's time-consuming for the pity fee. They require the photos to be formatted to their specs and a certain form needs to be filled out.
These outfits don't pay more than $30. I tell them I won't budge for under $50. I never hear back from them.

You didn't mention which company. I'm familiar with two: Vision Compliance and NCCI. They're both reputable and very professional companies (NCCI even issues you a badge!). And they're very cheap --ridiculously cheap. NCCI's fee scale begins at $20! Yet their guidelines remind agents to keep professional standards and the "power of a smile." With fees suitable for first-job high schoolers, agents aren't going to feel very professional or do much smiling.
The work is not hard, generally pleasant, but involves more time than they indicate. The questionnaires print out to 6 pp legal. You'll fill that out onsite and then again in the online report. And there are pictures to take, then transfer from the camera and upload. Figure 1.5 hr for prep, inspect, and post, excluding travel, on average.
They are good companies but their fees are "unprofessionally low." This work should start at $50. But it's all but impossible even to have them top out at that. It's pretty obvious from the comments over time in this forum that they have a hard time finding agents to work for this rate. I suspect lots more who do are one-time-and-out. I'll still do them once and awhile --if they catch me in a good mood and the inspection happens to be a place I'll be driving by anyway. But for $20? Nooooo waaaaaay!

No problem here!!! Average about 25 inspections,
field visit, equipment, audit and verifications per month. Average completion time one (1) hour, 20 miles roundtrip. Rates from $25 to $75 per assignment. Great source of additional income.

Re: No problem here!!! Average about 25 inspections,
Under those arrangements it wouldn't be a problem. It sounds professional through and through.

Re: I got a call about commercial inspection.??Not for $30
$30, is laughable. I do a number of these and my fee starts at $125 plus mileage at 50 cents a mile. Commercial inspections are not as easy as residential and you need to be able to establish a certain rapport with the business to get the information you need: tough to do unless you underatand business. Some of the insections I do need a map of the property as well as business and tax information.
