I have a HP Officejet H470 - $250, It's not a laser, but

prints like one, very very lightweight. You can get a rechargeable battery &/or a cigarette lighter power source. I love it! I was going to go the route of office-izing my car trunk or back seat, but this is MUCH simpler & CHEAPER!! Not to mention the portability factor: you might need to take it in the BO's house to re-print something; or just need your trunk/backseat. Good luck!!

I'm not an expert on portable printers by a long shot, but I'd say that unless you are planning to just use it for photocopying IDs, that a laser printer would be important. If it's for printing loan docs, it's a must.

I've only used it for printing docs (when I'm already on the

road). The only difference is that the HP seems to print darker. The print quality is great - the ink is a bit expensive for printing on a regular basis.

The point being inkjet is not acceptable, whether the docs are printed in advance or at the last minute on the road - if you're going to offer "on the road" printing capability, then you should be equipped with a laser printer so your last minute docs are printed in accordance with industry standards. The difference between inkjet and laser goes far beyond just the contrast of the print.

Ugh...posted too quick

My business volume has never been such that I need to equip myself for on the road printing. - but if I did, it would be a laser with a pure sine inverter.
