Printer Installation Problems

Not what you think, lol. Printer installed fine, everything working, except for some of the printing preferences are in German!! I tried uninstalling and installing again. Making sure I checked the English version to install it. The Help feature is in German also. Argggg!! I have a Brother 5140. I am at a loss. May be a simple fix, and then again, maybe not, lol

Since it is the holiday season, this would be a great time to take that crash course in German, concentrating of course, on printer stuff. LOL

Sorry - at this time, this is all I can offer. Someone will be here soon though and in the meantime, try to find a chuckle or two so you don't become stressed and eat too many desserts.

was laughing and saying, guess I need to learn some german. For right now it hasnt created a barrier, but Im sure it will in the future.

Hi,

Put your installation CD back in and re-install. During the installation process, you had a chance to choose your language. Perhaps you missed it in the excitement of being able to use a new printer .. Go slow and read everything .....

Oops, I should have said after completely reading your post

Make sure the English is indeed highlighted. I have found that some of the software, when loaded in Vista or 7 doesn't exactly highlight where you click your mouse ......

Or you can access the "setup" icon from the computer menu and right click on setup icon, choose "run as administrator" then install go slow, as your mouse may not highlight where you click and you might have to click above or below "English" to get English ..

that was it!! Except I just hit the "replace" button and it worked. Also, this is great info to know for future reference. Who knew you could right click in the white space in Printers and Faxes and get to the drivers for all your printers.

I had no idea you could pull up the drivers by right clicking.
