Shipping -- a holiday reminder

Get to know your shippers holiday schedule by going or calling the local office and see if there is any deviation from the holiday schedule posted on the internet. Sometimes there are differences such as pick up cuttoff times based on geographical location. For instance, there are many drop boxes in my county whose pickup deadline is as early as 1pm. The docs have to be driven to the airport and they all can't be picked up after 5pm.

Don't be one of those posting after Christmas and New Years saying you didn't know. It happens every year when someone is blindsided by local shipping rules that aren't on the major shippers' websites.

Since Thanksgiving.... at the 'last pickup in my town' dropbox both FedEx & UPS are actually picking up about 45 minutes before the time posted on the box. They do that every year until sometime in late February. There are no other options around here, either.

I got "caught out there" Thanksgiving with some loan docs.

Thankfully, there are multiple drop locations around town but I wasn't able to get a receipt. Thanks for the reminder, Glenn.
