Getting their docs off their website is a terrible hassle. They send them at the last minute, and then in pieces. The last time they had to revise the deeds. When I finally received everything and arrived at the borrowers' house I was there for 2 hours before they realized the 2 deeds were still wrong and the rest of the signing was cancelled because, naturally, the docs have to be redrawn. When I informed them that I expected to receive my full fee for that aborted signing I was informed that I only would get $25.00 printing fee and $25.00 travel fee! I find that preposterous, especially when none of that was my fault, and they do not provide any written notice up front as to how they handle a signing that is not completed.

That's up to you to work out with the company in advance and get it confirmed in writing what your expectations are in the event of a no-sign or rescission.

Had 2 closings with them...no docs. No phone call, no email, no one answers the phone. Lack of communication...1st closing never did hear anything as to status, and 2nd closing was cancelled 15 minutes prior to apt. Never again will I waste my entire day and turn down closings for this company.

You should get your FULL fee! You spent your time, you did your job. Because of someone else’s inept handling of the closing documents YOU should be penalized? That’s totally unprofessional!! Thanks for posting. I’ll be sure to get in writing what these flakes pay for a no-sign, IF I should ever be bored enough to take an assignment from them.

Just curious...
I'm wondering why it took two hours for them to figure out that the deeds were wrong. Those kinds of docs I usually cover up front and show them the key elements. If there's a problem with something, I always want us to find it as early in the process as possible.

Wondering same as Janet ...
Missing key details here - why did it take two hours to figure this out, and what exactly was wrong on the deeds, who made the decision that the whole loan had to be redrawn as a result of a deed error (that apparently TRG said could not be corrected at the table? Were they asked?). Myself, I check deeds/docs for obvious errors when I print them for this very reason - so I can have corrections made prior to close, ask questions prior to, or get permission to hand-correct at close.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience with TRG!
Contrary; I've had nothing but GREAT experience with them. Good/timely packages, they've met my fee without hesitation, and they pay within two weeks.
Last week I miss two calls from them. My phone was in Houston, and I'm in CA...long story. I could kick myself!! Dratz! I just hate missing the 'good' calls.
Hope it all works out for you.

I have done a lot of work for them also, pretty good usually pays 10 - 14 days. You are right about downloading the Docs but the pay makes it worth it. I wish I got more calls from SS like them.

Well, I am sort of leaning your way. I finally accepted a closing from them. The Closings is a good 40 minutes away on a Monday AM early. No docs, Fri. No docs Sat. and I feel it's not my job to track them down, and no one answers the telephone. Still unsure of their website, seems a little wierd to what I am used to. I sent them an email that I would not be able to do the AM closing because of schelduling conflicts if not on time. They assume you are available whenever they want you to be. I turned 2 local cash closings down in between, when I could have done them if they what have kept me in the loop. So far what I am sensing and reading, is they are pretty unproffessional, and the notary is the bottom of the food chain. I have one more later in the day with them, see what happens with it.
I totally understand being at a closing for 2 hours and then something is wrong. When docs come in late and you have to print and run, you do not have the time nor luxery to look them over up front. Until you get to the closing, how would you know if there is a mistake anyway? I do not pull the docs out of order from the way they come, unless it's to put the HUD on top, so naturally you would not catch the mistake until you are there. There were probably issues all day and that's why they were late to begin with. I sympathize with you.
They should have paid you the entire fee. You did your closing, signed what they gave you. Not your fault they sent the wrong docs. That's their mistake, and they should pay you again for going out and having a resign of the missing ones if you had to go. It's sad when they screw the notary who makes less than anyone and has to clean up the messes from everyone else.
