Transcontinental Title / First American
Has anyone had problems getting paid since FirstAm took oner TCT? I have an invoice dating back to October that remains unpaid. When contacting them in Clearwater, FL I am told to email [e-mail address]. When I first did this I was told to expect my check within 20 days as it had to go to Phoenix for processing. Get absolutely no help when I call Clearwater. My invoice was included in the package returned to Clearwater.

I am owed close to close to $4000.00 from Aug still. I am still fighting with about it also.
What a pain in the *&^%$ to get paid by First American Title.

Yes, I finally got paid from a closing booked by Transcontinental. They didn't tell me that they farmed out to First American or merged with them. It took me 4 months as I was told I was never registered with First American Title...60 days later they told me this. So even after I registered, they came up with some other excuse that it was never transferred to recieving. It's not worth my aggravation chasing the 100.00 down and the numerous calls to work for them. PS Negretes...your'e the BEST!!

I did a couple of signings for them when First American took them over and yes, I did experience slow payment. This was a couple of months ago. First Am has a different accounting method to pay their notaries, and it takes longer for them to disburse the checks. I was told its not as easy as just ripping a check out to the notary, they have to jump thru all kinds of hoops to make the checks happen. The only thing I can tell you is to stay on them and you should get paid. I say that knocking on wood. I hope you do get paid.

I do a lot of work for First American and NEVER have trouble getting paid within 2 weeks. I have not worked for TCT though. Maybe that is the problem. I make sure I call or report on the website when my closing has finished though. That needs to be within an hour of when it starts. Can be tricky sometimes but I have seemed to make it. I follow their directions EXACTLY.
Good luck. I hate it when I have to chase money.

Re: Frances....
this slow payment with TCT didnt happen until they were taken over by First Am. I can assure you their payments were within 2 weeks each and every time. I dont believe the payment problems are with TCT.

I had to email my invoice to them as well, but it took me
several tries to get the address right. The one I used that did not get "returned" (failure notice) was [e-mail address]. I had even tried the one you posted, and it was a "failure notice" as well. Did it work for you?

Try asking for Andrea Somers when you call TCT/First American in Clearwater. I think she's still there. I had an unpaid TCT closing for 2 months after First American took over, talked to Andrea, and was paid that week.
