air card pricing info?

I am getting more calls for e-signs involving laptop and air card. Has anyone done the comparison shopping for air cards?

Why wouldn't you "waste" the money? Why is being an attorney a factor?

GA is an attorney only state -

what do you not understand about this statement?

Only attorneys may do legal signings in GA. If you are not an attorney, you are committing an illegal act. You must be an attorney. That is a lawyer. A lawyer goes to school a long time and in GA they protect their turf. Only Attorneys can sign in GA.

If you intent is to get an air card to do signings in GA, and you are not an attorney, then it is a waste of money unless you have other plans for that air card.

Thank you. I am glad you recognize something. How does this affect you? Are you an attorney? Did your degree come with your Christmas card?

And while on the subject of profiles..

Are you a Closing Agent or Signing Agent? They are two separate things with entirely different responsibilities, yet you state in your profile here and elsewhere you're a Closing Agent. If you mean Signing Agent I'd suggest you revise your profile wording to accurately reflect your true status since a Signing Agent does not have the responsibility or authority of a Closing Agent (at least not in my experience). In the event you truly ARE a Closing Agent, then apologies and forget what I just said.

On the same subject, have I been missing something?

Maybe it's just too late in the evening, but I don't recall ever having heard of the "National Notary Network" or the "American Notary Network". Someone clue me in...

Janet, when I googled ( you know the phrase)

I came up with N3 and NNA calling themselves Nat. Not. Network. Which? I dunno.
American Not. Net - American Notary Network, P.O. Box 2331, Apple Valley, CA 92307 and according to their site they have the most "quickest and most comprehensive
Mobile Notary Search Engine on the Web today". Unless one registers, one see nothing. 2002 is copyright date.

Thank you, Cari. Wow, did we get off the subject, or what? Of course I am an attorney. Why would one assume otherwise? Perhaps I am not noting the fact adequately in my profile. Still, I do not wish to pay more for an aircard then y'all folks do!

Marko - didn't assume otherwise but

"Of course I am an attorney. Why would one assume otherwise?"

Marko - didin't assume otherwise but it is surprising at the number of people who become notaries in GA and then go on to become signing agents, without being an attorney. There have been several here who have bought the hype of a national org. who sells them the "book learning" on how to do this big bucks job, then they come on here announcing their intentions to wipe out the competition.

So, Linda's question was not out of the norm, nor was my acid response. Most of us here endeavor to remain within the bounds of all statues, silly or not, and.......well, you get the gist of what I am saying. Since the many attorney's I have known have a great sense of humor, I sincerely hope your is intact.

(Under the circumstances, that is as close as I can get to an apology. We are not able to see your profile as you are not linked. And yeah, we did hijack your thread...sorry. LOL)

As far as I know, most aircards are running about $60/mo. I had one, ditched it, and use my Blackberry as a Broadband connection (tethered with USB). It works fine.
