Adding printer memory.
In the past I have always worked with HP's however, I now have 2 brother printers. One of them shoots the documents out fast as can be, however, the newer version which should be faster takes forever (seems that way especially when I am rushing!) to start printing and then hesitates between documents. It will print a couple, wait a couple of minutes and then start printing again. This is very frustrating! Now, I have heard that you can add memory to your printers, is this true? And if so, does anyone know how? Sometimes my computer will say it's looking for more memory or something. Does this mean my "computer" needs more memory? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you! Susan

Re: Adding printer memory. You probably already know this,
but my HP does the 'print/think/print/think' thing when in Advanced, the box is checked for 'print as image.' Sometimes scanned docs' pages are just a hair different in size, and the system doesn't know which paper size to choose. Switching to 'print as image' fixes that little glitch, but takes forever - print/think/print/think. When the scanned docs are done properly, the paper size is exact, and unchecking that box lets her print like a champ.
On the other hand, when the printer complains that it's memory is failing, I just print 25 pages at a time, and that seems to placate the complainer. The other day, I had to reboot a few times before it decided that there was nothing wrong, and it quit acting out.
Brothers? Could be a whole other animal.
In any event, it's always when I'm jammed for time that the blasted thing acts up... -^^-

Thank you! I checked the document I had a hard time
printing. It fixed the problem.

I've got a Brother MFC 8860DN to which I bought and added an additional memory card, just had to slip it in. This is coupled with my single laser printer (happens to be another Brother).

Back when I had Windows, I would uninstall the printer
and reinstall it. That always worked if you had issues with corrupted files.

I stopped using HP printers because I had so many problems with drivers & spooling. I haven't encountered any of that with the Brother HL-5250DNT I now use. It isn't always about "memory", but often after having the correct driver. First step is always to uninstall & reinstall. IME it isn't always about the printers either, and can be a MS Windows issue.
