BancServ
I know there was discussion towards the end of last year regarding BancServs low fees but I really need to vent today and add to that. I've gotten two calls in the last 7 days from them and prior to that they had stopped calling me for a few months due to my not being willing to accept thier low fees. So last week after my first call in months I specifically asked to them to raise my base fee from $50 as I don't know why they would have that in the first place. Well I thought it was handled. But then today I got another call for a purchase signing and stated that my base fee was $50. I again told them I do not work for $50 and she said they have plenty of notaries that do. Okay? well then call one of them. I did not say that but I thought it. She did in the end agree to my fee so I wasn't sure how to take that but I'm wondering do they really have many notaries working for $50? Please let me know if I'm off base here.

Nope, you're spot on. If they, in fact, do have any $50 notaries....they don't post here.

Nope, not off base. hope you got atleast twice what they offered. Maybe they're running out of $50 notaries.

Try to remember to ask that they include your agreed upon fee on the confirmation. They pay regularly and are easy to work with. Raising your base fee = good.

bancserv put 150 on the hud for them and wants you to do work for 50 no way!

As someone else said, make sure YOU GET THE FEE LISTED ON YOUR CONFIRMATION.

Thank you for all your input. I have raised my base fee, or so I was told twice. I have made up my mind that I am worth more and I can prove it. Thats all there is to say.

My experience working for BancServe was always good except for their low fee. I found, however, that when edocs were involved they were willing to increase their fee with no questions asked. Also, in this market if you can get consistent and numerous transactions from a good, dependable company it is almost worth saying "yes" (although it kills me too) rather than saying no. The more you say yes to them, the more often they will call you.
