Brother mfc 8840D and Vista
Anyone have this combo? If so how did you get the printer to work? Brother doesn't support Vista but supposedly has a driver that can allow the printer to work only and not the scanner and everything else. Anyone? Thanks

I have it to a Sony laptop. Do you have the link for the software you mention?

No, I am sorry. You call Brother. They will sell the software. I think it will cost around $20.

I have the same Brother printer & use Vista w/no problem. The software is on the Brother website at:

You might have to cut & paste that link.

Forgot to add ...
... I use a scanning utility called Paperport 11 & am not familiar with the scanning utility that comes with the Brother software. I did just try out some of the copy & scan functions & it all works (Control Center 3 it's called) . It has a lot of configuration options , which I am also not familiar with except for the PC FAX which works wonderfully, especially in conjunction with the auto-feed device on the scanner. The fax program that came with Ultimate Vista never did work right so I am very thankful to have the Brother combo machine. Hope this helps.
