Land America Need your Help

Hi All I just got a call for a closing for next week for Land America, I used to do alot of work for them regularly. Since Nov. nothing. Now all of a sudden I get a call to do a closing today for next week. I accepted it, and said to the gal who called, how is it that I'm going to get paid as I've read about the problems you are having. She said, she works from home and is a scheduler and subcontractor as well and there were some payment issues, but not anymore.
she herself even had some issues, but has since been paid. Anyone??? thanks for you help.
Is Anyone doing work for them and getting paid?

Ooooo, I wanna work at home...where do I sign up? j/k

Sounds like they may be addressing their problems creatively. Outcome? Who knows.

What? Sign up or work at home?

I work <from> home. Still have to suit up and ship out. Would rather work in sweats & slippers.

Re: What? Sign up or work at home?

Work at home…Clean, laundry, cook, feed the critters etc. Work from home…Phone, type, download, print, file, accounting, etc. Work from vehicle / and-or appointed rendezvous: house/office/restaurant/bar/coffee shop/library etc … Drive, call, complete appointment, drop off packages, get supplies, etc. seems like 24 hours a day. And when you ain’t workin’, you get to deal with deadbeats, chiselers, and morons on the phone. What a fun job…and aside from the marvelous financial rewards, just think of all the thanks and consideration we get from going out of our way to see that our end of an important, and complex process is done correctly.

I’d think it depends on the office. I believe that LandAmerica was taken over by Fidelity National Financial, after they took Chapter11. Getting paid was iffy for a time, but they should be okay now. They have reduced their employees here in CO trying to save $. Part time workers….some work remotely (from home) sales reps commission only no salary… etc.

Sorry I can't help there. If it were me I'd give them one chance.

Don't do it. I had to file with the mag. to get paid on a bad check. Land America paid me for the check plus legal fees. It's not worth the head aches.
