Many would probably run from this company.
Out of 23 comments in Signing Central, 8 people gave 1 star and 14 people gave 2 stars -- all citing no/slow pay. And if you do a search, the picture isn't any brighter.
But I took an assignment from the company anyway. I did the closing on January 22nd and received a check in the mail yesterday -- 18 days later -- less than 3 weeks.
You may have a different experience. Mine was positive. I updated Signing Central to reflect it.
Greenbelt Real Estate Services (Mellville, NY)
Good luck.

I did the exact same thing Leon. I took one also last Sat from Deb. I stated my concerns to her and she assured me I would get paid in a timely manner. She seems very nice in both voice and e-mails. I will post positive also if she comes through for me also. Glad it worked for you.

Linda, I hope that it works out well for you.

Is it really luck?
Or are some of these companies making a conscious effort to change their image, and improve the way they do business? After all, you can't do business if signing agents don't want to work with you.
I don't know.
I akin it to someone who may have made mistakes in the past, and has vowed to change. For example, if it was credit problems, then they make sure that they never exceed their credit limit, and they always pay their credit card bill on time.
That consumer simply wants to show that they have changed. And they want others to take a chance on them.
P.S. This may not be the case. It's simply a possibility.
Also, I made an error in my original post. I said that 14 people gave 2 stars. That was actually '4'. I was looking at my notes, and the '/' that I made (8/4), and mistakenly wrote '14'.

I would give Deb 5 stars!
My experience with her has always been excellent. Good communication, docs early or on time, and never a payment problem. I have completed at least 10 signings for her and always gotten my money in 30 days or less.

The same exact thing happened to me. I looked up Greenbelt and saw a lot of bad comments about them. I worked for them twice last month and received my checks in record time. I left them a 5 star review this morning in Signing Central. Deb is great and it was a VERY positive experience.

Can't teach an old dog new tricks
The same people in the company trying to change their ways?? Uh-huh.
I can't say as I would be so comfortable in this "wonderful" economy to take such a chance. Just because the sun came up sooner today doesn't mean their doing any better.

Greenbelt is one I won't work for anymore. It has been a year since my last experience. I just looked it up. That was the last of many times that I had to plead and beg for my payment. The last time she was so defensive about it and it was becoming a pattern so I said i would not do signings for her anymore. She was nice, until it came time to pay. Then it was a nightmare. I am sure things can change, however, I will not risk it anymore if I see a pattern. That was my experience, and it has been a year, but it was repetitive at the the time over a period of time so that was it for me. :-)

Actually I had a mixed positive/negative experience with this company awhile back. I did the signing for a non-borrowing spouse in a split signing and didn't even have to forward the docs to another notary. The other spouse had their own set of documents which signed simultaneously. One notarization and 2 signatures - that's all. I quoted $125.00 and received $125.00 for that. But the check was very slow in coming.
