NCCI Field Inspections
I have read some previous posts on this. I was called for one today for one tomorrow and offered $30. I always was paid $50 for inspections. They are more time consuming than they say. Uploading photos etc. I agreed to the closing because it was so close to me, but they never called back to confirm the appointment for first thing tomorrow morning. They do the confirmations instead of the notary. I got another call for another signing at the same time with another company and decided to take that anyway and not send in my contract because of my concerns. Anyone else have any input on this company...besides the company themselves. I noticed in previous posts someone with the last name Orozco commented, but I want feedback from notaries..not the company. I have not done inspections for a long time due to the low fees and looks like I will be not doing them still, but what are your experiences with this company?? Thanks so much!

I was contacted by this company also and offered $30. I get $75 for mine and will not take less. They involve driving to inspection, taking up to 20 photos, doing report and then going home to enter report and download photos. They call and say but it's only in Jacksonville. That can be in a 1000 square mile radius.

I used to do debtor trackings and site inspections (always a business location) for them. A debtor tracking is where I would download the assignment and a letter to be given to the debtor or left at the debtor's address (sealed in an envelope they supplied which said Personal and Confidential in big red letters). Pay was $40 to $65 depending on the driving distance. Take a couple of photos of the collateral, or residence if the collateral was not there. Try to get the debtor to talk with the service rep for the lender, if the debtor is home. I never had any problems, and 90% of the time I was able to get the debtor to talk to the lender's rep with just the right amount of friendly words. If the debtor was not home, I left the sealed envelope in a prominent spot at the door. Back home, I just had to upload the photos and complete a report - pretty easy. Inspections paid more, usually $50 to $65 depending on location, and again they were easy. The company being inspected knew you were coming, welcomed you, was happy to answer the simple questions, and have you take the required 4 to 8 photos. Reporting and uploading photos was also easy and simple. The last full year I worked with them was 2007, and I earned over $1,600 from these debtor trackings and site inspections. Then in 2008 they decided about halfway through the year to switch to a "middleman" system. Instead of sending assignments directly to the tracker, they arranged for a "middleman" company to do that. They paid the "middleman" company a set fee for all assignments, less than they had been paying directly, and the "middleman" company kept a portion and paid a portion to the tracker. Suddenly I was being offered $25 flat fee for all assignments! I reluctantly allowed myself to be talked into giving it a try, but I quit a couple of months later in disgust. Assignments that would have earned me $660 under the old system now paid me just $375.00!!! I protested and let them know the reason I was quitting, but they didn't seem to care, which surprised me as they had always been great to work with before. Eventually they figured out the new system wasn't working, and I got an email asking me to come back as they had gotten rid of it and gone back to the old system, but by then gas was sky high, and I wasn't interested any longer. As far as NCCI is concerned, I would rate them a 10 to work with. Pay was timely, and they had a very good online website where you could input your work, invoice once your report had been approved, and check to see which invoices had been or were being paid. Payment was timely and accurate, too. I'm sad to see they're offering so little for site inspections. I wouldn't do them for $30 either, even though I like the company.

It is so strange to me that the pay is so low. I haven't done one in more than a year because the pay offered was so low and today I almost agreed to it. Not happening now, and I think I will stick to what I do best and what pays better. After costs and taxes are accounted for, I don't make anything. I am just a bit mystified as to why they pay so low. It is strange to me. That is ok though, I don't get many requests here. We don't have a lot of businesses here that need these. We are a tourist island. I have had maybe 3 or 4 requests in the last year..all paying around $25-$30. I charge more than that for a single document notary. So strange. Thanks for all the feedback. I appreciate it.

done away with the "middleman"
Not in FL, that I know of. But it would be to their advantage, and if that were true, I would accept the delinquency interviews/inspections for $30 a pop. I worked for them last Aug-Nov for $17/each. They used to pay a profitable $35 for each delinquency interview, and I could add a nice little chunk to my revenue when they were doing just that.
