North American Title/Texas
Hello there. Anyone have experience with this company in terms of payment reliability? Thank you!

North American Title is a national title company with offices in 16 states. Often, the local office will pay you. However, Lennar (the parent company of North American Title, as well as Universal American Mortgage Company), will cut your check from the 'home' office in Miami, FL. Payment takes between 20-40 days when the check comes out of Miami. If you're paid from the local Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston or San Antonio office, it may be different. I wouldn't worry about getting paid. They've paid me for the past 7 years (both from local offices and home office) with no problems.

just an aside ... Lennar is in BIG trouble in my area.
This comment has NOTHING to do with whether or not NAT is a good company or not.

Lennar is in BIG trouble in many places, including Florida, Texas and Pennsylvania. Has nothing to do with NAT or UMAC, but with the builder and their practices.

Interesting... A few years back when the boom was still on, I did some general notary work for a guy working at a big construction site for a new home. Turns out the home owner was, I was told, a key exec for Lennar homes. (I'll leave it vague...) The house is ginormous (20k+ sq ft) and up the top of a hill easily seen from a very busy freeway. Just a little bit pretentious...? I wonder how he's doin' with HIS mortgage??
