Sign Pal Signing Service
after paying a $20 application fee to sign pal in December (I cannot recall why this wasn't a GIANT red flag to me) I recieved this message today after NO returned phone calls or email messages in all of the time since I first signed up.
Their message today is below.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the SignPal team of notary public agents. We realize that it may have been awhile since you initially signed up to join our team of qualified agents, and we apologize for the delay in responding to your request. Unfortunately, due to an overwhelming response of notary public agents nationwide interested in becoming a part of our trusted network, we have been experiencing a bit of growing pains and have been working to evaluate the best possible solution to benefit our notary public agents, as well as our customers.
It is of the utmost importance to us at SignPal to make customer service our top priority. We are committed to the best possible service, not only to customers who are looking to purchase notary services, but to the valued notary public agents that wish to become a part of our network.
Due to the unprecedented interest we received from notary public agents wishing to join our team, as well as the decline in the need for notary services due to our current economic climate, we do not feel that at the current time we can adequately offer you enough referral business to warrant your monthly network fee. Therefore, we have decided to rescind your application to become a member of the SignPal network at this time. We apologize for this and will be refunding any fees you have already paid to SignPal, in the manner in which they were initially paid.
Again, we regret the delay in our response, but wanted to first make sure we considered the best interests of all parties before making our decision. We hope to be able to reopen our registration process to notary public agents in the near future and will post information on our website once that becomes available. If you would prefer to receive an email message once the situation has changed, please respond back to this email and let us know.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter, and again, we thank you for your support of and interest in SignPal.
Wishing you every success,
A. Van Nguyen, CEO & Chairman, SignPal Corporation

Re: Sign Pal Signing Service...translation...
not enough people took the bait to make it worth our while...
At least you're getting your money back, Jess - that's a good thing...

Re: Sign Pal Signing Service...translation...
Yeah, I can't believe I fell for it. They offered a great Smartphone-type-dispatch that sounded very appealing to me. (I hate handwritten faxed notes, or write down this address and phone number over the phone while driving kinds of scenarios). One particular signing agency I work for ALWAYS gives me bad phone numbers. Thankfully I know the areas's prefixes and area codes well, so can usually figure it out.
I'm not holding my breath on getting my money back. I've called them dozens of times with no returned call. If the money isn't back on my Visa in two weeks, I'll just call Visa and report it.
I signed up in Early December, and in late Dec I got an automated email saying they weren't up and running yet, but would not charge me until they were (turns out they had already charged me).
Just my humble opinion.... I feel like a total sucker. Hope nobody else fell for this.

Sign-Pal website.
Their website is still active, however monthly and annual memberships are "SOLD OUT" at this time. They want prospective members to send them an emaiI expressing interest in joining up. I did not see anywhere else any indication that they were out of business or returning membership fees.

Do it now...
If they are having financial problems, they can close their bank / Visa account and then Visa can't charge them back and you could be out the money. These days, Visa, MC or any other card may not credit you back unless they get the money or there was fraud involved, such as a stolen credit card number ..
Let us know if you get the money back. Good Luck!

Re: Do it now...
Thanks for the tip, I'll go ahead and call. I don't think they've ever actually BEEN in business.... nobody has answered the phone or their 24 hour signer support emails.... it's very frustrating.

Sounds like another
Notary Bay attempt. It wasn't easy to get out of THAT one.
