Texas Notaries
I have a small web site. Many here have web sites, most far better than mine that’s a cheap $12 a year Yahoo do-it-yourself one. Maybe that’s why I’ve never gotten any business from it? I do however I do get solicitations from time to time, usually from newbies wanting to ‘sign up’ with me. I email them back and say we only do signings in Colorado. Anyway, I just got one from Texas, (Waco area, no names please) someone wanting to update their fee schedule. Stating they now charge $25 for HELOC closing? I thought that in TX if the borrower gets any cash out, that these closings had to be in at Title Co, or bank? Now I know HELOC closings are small packages, and are quickly done…but $25? I know that there many notaries out there taking FASS’s $50, and the Nations Direct $45 offers, but to advertise this? Come on people let’s not ‘lower the bar’ ‘till it’s underground!

Re: Texas Notaries - Les you are correct.
"$25"
The notary is confused because they have zero experience.
Ignore it.

Re: $65.00 closings
At least the good new is (1) you didn't have to lower your standards and (2) that NSA will be out of business real soon, probably right after they complete their Schedule C and see how much money they lost.

Re: $65.00 closings
If they don't make that much, they probably won't pay taxes.

Not paying taxes?
Not paying taxes is not much of a benefit when you have lost money doing a job at below market value,
If every job you do takes in less money than your expenses total you simply can't turn a profit by increasing the volume of assignments.
